People Are Getting Surgery To Look Like Snapchat Filters!

“Snapchat Dysmorphia” has now officially entered the medical lexicon. According to a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), an astonishing number of plastic surgery patient now list “selfies” as a primary motivation for going under the knife.

The paper states, “A new phenomenon, dubbed ‘Snapchat dysmorphia,’ has patients seeking out cosmetic surgery to look like filtered versions of themselves instead, with fuller lips, bigger eyes, or a thinner nose. This is an alarming trend because those filtered selfies often present an unattainable look and are blurring the line of reality and fantasy for these patients.”

Whether we like it or not, we live in an era of flawlessly edited selfies and ever-evolving standards of beauty. The popularity of image-based social media has put Photoshop and filters in everyone’s arsenal, unlike yonder years when only those in the spotlight had access to these tools. Now, it is not just celebrities propagating beauty standards: it is a classmate, a coworker, or a friend.

A few swipes on Snapchat can give decorate a selfie with a crown of flowers or puppy ears, lighten the skin, or add a sparkle to your eyes. A little adjusting on Facetune can smoothen out skin, and make teeth look whiter and eyes and lips bigger. A quick share on Instagram, and the likes and comments start rolling in. These filters and edits have become the norm, altering people’s perception of beauty worldwide.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), is a condition which involves “excessive preoccupation with a perceived flaw in appearance, classified on the obsessive-compulsive spectrum.” Snapchat dysphoria can be described as an offshoot of the same condition. “Those with a dysmorphic body image may seek out social media as a means of validating their attractiveness,” the study notes. With those with higher engagement on social media platforms more likely to have a higher level of body dissatisfaction, despite trying to “present a specific image of themselves or analyzing and commenting on other’s photos”.

Teens, who once focused on things like the size of their nose, for example, are now hypercritical of completely normal lines, blemishes, and imperfections masked by Snapchat filters. The American Medical Academy of Facial and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery says 55% of clinicians saw patients who “wanted to look better in their selfies” in 2017. This signifies a 13% increase from the previous year. The most common procedures from clients between 17 and 22 years old ask for are oversized eyes and lips, narrowed jawlines, refined nose, and flawless skin.

“It can be argued that these apps are making us lose touch with reality because we expect to look perfectly primped and filtered in real life as well,” according to the study. “Filtered selfies especially can have harmful effects on adolescents or those with BDD because these groups may more severely internalize this beauty standard.”

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons estimated that Americans spent $16 billion on cosmetic surgical fees in 2016.

Vietnam’s Highly Anticipated Golden Bridge Opens

We know what you’re thinking, and the answer is no – this isn’t a scene from a fantasy movie. This golden woven thread bridge held up by a colossal pair of hands overlooking the mountains is located in central Vietnam.

Nicknamed “The Hands of God”,  and nestled in the densely forested Ba Na Hills, Vietnam’s officially named Golden Bridge has attracted throngs of tourists since it opened in June this year. It seems like the purpose to design a structure to evoke the image of the giant hands of God, pulling a strip of gold out of the land was achieved when the shimmering structure, set more than 3,280 feet above sea level, was opened to the public.

The bridge is 150-meters long and passes through a picturesque mountside. It is held up by two weathered hands which although appear to be stone, are in fact made from a combination of steel mesh, concrete and covered with fiberglass.

The scenic Ba Na Hills was first established by French colonists in 1919 and is located near Danang on Vietnam’s central coast. At one point in time, it boasted some 200 villas, but only a few ruins remain today. The Hills are renown for its cobbled streets, a Fantasy Park, and a French-style village, and attracted 2.7 million visitors last year alone according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. The walkway extends over the treetops from the edge of a leafy cliff face and offers visitors uninterrupted views of the landscape beneath.

According to the BBC, plans are in the works to build an adjoining silver bride that would resemble God’s strand of hair. The area was formerly the site of an American base during the Vietnam War and is now a vacation hot spot. The unique mix of city, beach, and mountains draw many tourists to the area: China Beach for fresh seafood and good waves; Marble Mountains for exploring temples and caves; and the city itself for a burgeoning culinary scene.

The bridge is reported to have cost the Vietnamese government a titanic USD $2 billion and was designed by TA Landscape Architecture in Ho Chi Minh City.

Bradley Cooper & Jennifer Esposito

It might come as a surprise to many, but former Sexiest Man Alive, Bradley Cooper was once married. The Hangover star wed fellow actress Jennifer Esposito after just four months of publicly dating, and less than three months of being engaged.

“It was just something that happened,” Cooper explained in 2011. “The good thing is, we both realized it. Sometimes you just realize it. It just wasn’t right. It’s interesting…things happen!”

Differing Opinions

According to Esposito, however, the circumstances of their breakup weren’t so mutual. She wrote in her book, “Within days, my relationship hit an all-time low, and within a week, it was over. Abruptly, rudely, and with the exact callousness that I’d come to expect from him, but this time, I did nothing but agree to end it.”

Hilarious Signs Found Only In Texas

Texas is so big, its people often refer to the rest of the United States as “that sketchy place outside of Texas.” Proudly known as the Lone Star State, Texas loves to immortalize its former status as an independent republic as well as its historic struggle for independence from Mexico. Bigger than many countries, it would be the 39th largest country by land mass if it were a nation.

Therefore it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Texans have their own dandy sense of humor. Possessing a culture larger than life, Texans are renown for their good old-fashioned manners and their smiles as bright as day. There’s a reason the origin of Texas’s name comes from the word “taysha”, which means “friends” in Native American Caddo.

Let’s take a look to see the most charming Texas signs ever displayed.

No Bite And All Bang?

Outside of Texas, you could pass this sign off as a prank or ironic sense of humor, however, in Texas chances are it’s a fair warning to anyone who would dare trespass. Knockin’ on heaven’s door might become a reality when door knockin’ here.

Oh, Deer.

You wouldn’t forget a sign like this. Unlike most signs which advise drivers to watch out for “insert animal”, this one offers a more realistic take on the sad reality of deer fatalities on the road. That’s quite the eyed-deer.

Hold onto your cowboy hats, there’s more:

A Slow And Painful Death

If only all danger signs were so passive-aggressive, we would read each and every one in their entirety. If dying isn’t enough reason to put someone off, the pain which precedes it surely has to be a deterrent.

That’s One Cold Beer

Well then, hell must’ve frozen over. Why not bury your sorrows with a cold one mulling over that heartless, good for nothing, ex of yours who you’re happy to see the back of. If the beer is as the sign says, we better quit talkin’ and start drinkin’.

Real-Life Harry Potter Couples Who Prove Love Spells Exist

Expecto Patronum! Welcome to the wonderful world of Hogwarts, fellow Potterists. Potterheads far and wide, we are about to graduate from the famous school of witchcraft and wizardry and as a final test, we’ve been given a test on lasting love.

Wizards, Witches, Muggles, Squibs, Obscurials, Giants, Goblins, House-Elves, and Fantastic Beasts alike, let us delve into our spellbook and see if lasting love truly exists in the Potterverse. Whatever happened to Harry and the gang, did Hermione and Ron go the distance, could Dumbledore find a suitable match, and would anyone really love Voldermort?

The Gryffindor To Your Heart

So who is Daniel Radcliffe dating when his alter ego isn’t crushing on Ginny Weasley? Luckily, we’ll be able to find the answer. We’ll travel the world to uncover the spellbound loves of the Harry Potter cast. Would a Gryffindor wizard ever marry a Slytherin? Or would a giant ever find lasting love? We’ll have to race through our spellbooks to see what lies beyond the Disillusionment Charm.

Did Ron Weasley take his onscreen romance with Lavender Brown off-screen? Could Neville Longbottom find “the one” before any of colleagues? Did the invitations get sent out by owl post? We wonder if Luna Lovegood got moonstruck by a handsome gentleman? By the Sword of Gryffindor, we shall find out. Watch out for the Mirror of Erised’s tricks as we pass through the Room of Requirement as we begin our journey.

Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy)

Draco Malfoy, that devious little… The young Slytherin pureblood would be Harry’s chief rival in his early years at Hogwarts. In the end, little Malfoy redeemed himself somewhat so we’ll forgive him for his misgivings. Offscreen, his colleagues have stated that he is a genuinely great guy, with him and Daniel Radcliffe being buddies in real life.

Tom Felton & Jade Olivia (Dated)

Felton seems to be a long-term kind of guy showing indicating he knows what he wants, unlike his character. Although Felton and his ex-girlfriend of 7 years broke up in January 2016, they will always have their moment in the Harry Potter folklore as they played husband and wife Draco Malfoy and Astoria Greengrass in Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley)

Ginny Weasely played by actress Bonnie Wright nearly found lasting love on set. Harry’s wife is a multi-talented individual who apart from being an actress is also a film director, screenwriter, model, and producer.

Bonnie Wright & Jamie Campbell Bower (Engaged & Split)

Perhaps being inspired by her on-screen character, Wright, was engaged to Jamie Campbell Bower who played the young Gellert Grindelwald. The two met on the set of Harry Potter, before confirming they were dating in February 2010 and were engaged later. However, they called off their engagement by June 2012.

Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory)

Cedric Diggory, oh, what could have been! Robert Pattinson, the former Twilight star, who portrayed Cedric Diggory, is easily the actor who became better known for his subsequent success than any of the other cast members. One of the few selected for the Triwizard tournament, the Hufflepuff representative even defeated Harry in a Quidditch match, mind you, Harry was distracted by the dementors at the time. Diggory, wouldn’t last long as he was murdered by Voldemort’s accomplices when the Dark Lord was resurrected.

Robert Pattinson & FKA Twigs (Were Engaged)

The famous jawline would swoon over singer and fellow Brit, FKA Twigs, between 2014 to 2017. The split was a result of their demanding schedules which kept them apart. Sources close to the pair reported, “that’s the girl he wants to marry.” Only time will tell if Cedric Diggory comes back to for a second round.

Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood)

Evanna Lynch, the actress who played the adorable Luna Lovegood, the easy-going, ever cheerful, enigmatic classmate of Harry’s. The Ravenclaw is described as having a “permanently surprised look” which made Lynch a shoe-in for the role. The eternal dreamer, Lovegood is one of the few to believe Harry and Dumbledore when they mention Voldemort is back and answers the call to arms in the defence of Hogwarts against the Deatheaters.

Evanna Lynch & Robbie Jarvis (Dated)

Luna seemed to have a thing for the young Potter -no, not that one, the other one. Lynch and Robbie Jarvis who portrayed the young James Potter, Harry’s father, were an item a couple of years after the movies ended. Posting several pictures of themselves on Instagram, the two seemed to be in love, until suddenly they stopped posting.

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter)

The man who surely needs no introduction, the eponymous Harry Potter, is etched into the hearts and minds of a generation of Potterheads the world over. The reluctant hero, fought his way through insurmountable odds to save not only Hogwarts but the world as we know it. Daniel Radcliffe, the man who plays the chosen one, is now a household name thanks to his portrayal of the world famous character.

Daniel Radcliffe & Erin Darke (Dating)

It seems Mr. Potter has eyes for only one. Radcliffe met actress Erin Darke on the set of the film Kill Your Darlings in 2013. Although there have been rumors of a possible engagement in mid-2014, it was later put to bed by Darke’s father in December of the same year. Half a decade together, the couple appear to still be going strong. Radcliffe revealed that it was “one of those sort of situations [where] you just have a connection with somebody.”

Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley)

Rupert Grint played the best friend and closest confidant, Ron Weasely, to Harry Potter in the movies. Many would say Grint did a better job playing Weasely than Radcliffe or Watson did playing Harry Potter or Hermione Granger, respectively. The redhead was nigh on perfect in his portrayal, so much so the actor has found getting roles outside the Potterverse nigh on impossible.

Rupert Grint & Georgia Groome (Dated)

Based on what can be gathered from his social media pages, Grint and actress Georgia Groome have quite a dating history. They have been spotted together having dinner by British tabloids, while Grint also attended the premiere of Double Date, which starred Groome. It’s unclear if the two are still together as rumors swirl the couple is dating on and off. Although, Groome as seen on the set of the television show Snatch on which Grint stars.

Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick & Griphook)

Warwick Davis got the envious chance to play two roles in the Harry Potter franchise. First, he played the goblin Griphook, appearing in the first and last two films. He also played Harry’s Hogwarts Charms teacher Professor Filius Flitwick in every one of the eight films. Davis has a long career from acting in several Star Wars films to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy to Doctor Who and the Leprechaun series of films.

Warwick Davis & Samantha Davis (Married)

Davis has managed to balance his professional life with his personal one seeing as he’s been married to his wife, Samantha Davis (née Burroughs), since 1991. Samantha is known for her roles in Through the Dragon’s Eye, ShortFellas, and Honky Sausages. The couple has two children together. The couple first met on the set of the movie Willow in 1998 and haven’t looked back since.

Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort)

Tom Marvolo Riddle, better known as Lord Voldemort. The chief antagonist in the Potterverse, the leader of the Death Eaters is the sole surviving descendant of Hogwarts co-founder, Salazar Slytherin. His sole aim is to rid the magical world of Muggles, non-magical beings, and rule both worlds. Thankfully, the dastardly deviant Dark Lord failed in his quest. The talented Ralph Fiennes portrayed you-know-who to perfection, so much so, his very presence makes people uneasy to this day.

Ralph Fiennes & Alex Kingston (Married & Divorced)

Unlike his character on-screen, Fiennes is known for his charming presence off-screen and has been married once. His marriage to English actress Alex Kingston lasted four years, prior to which they dated for a decade from the time they were both budding acting students. They divorced after Fiennes affair with actress Francesca Annis whom he was with for eleven years also before separating. Seem that Lord Voldemort has a soft spot after all.

Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid)

The gentle half-giant who is the keeper of the keys and grounds at Hogwarts, Hagrid acts as Harry’s wizarding guardian in many ways. Introducing him to the wizarding world into which he has been born, Hagrid seems to be the uncle the little wizard boy always needed. Hagrid is played by Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane in the films. Author, J.K. Rowling herself stated, “Robbie is just perfect for Hagrid because Hagrid is a very loveable character, quite likable, quite comic,” with “a certain toughness underneath” which, “I think Robbie does that perfectly.”

Robbie Coltrane & Rhona Gemmell (Married & Divorced)

Coltrane has appeared in a number of films and television shows throughout his career, including two James Bond movies as Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky. The actor married sculptress Rhona Gemmell in 1999 after the two started dating after they first met on Christmas Eve 1988. The divorced in 2003, but not before they welcomed two children into their lives. Coltrane continues to actively work in film and television.

Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange)

Bellatrix Lestrange, Voldemort’s staunchest supporter known for her sadistic nature. In the films, she is portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter, who was one of the more well-known actors to be cast in the franchise. A Death Eater, she is responsible for the deaths of several loveable characters such as the fan-favorite Sirius Black, and house-elf Dobby. Being part of Voldemort’s inner circle she is a wizarding pure-blood advocate.

Helena Bonham Carter & Tim Burton (Dated)

In addition to possessing the essence of every character she plays, Carter possessed the heart of quirky film director, Tim Burton for 13 years. During this time she featured in many of Burton’s films such as Planet of the ApesCharlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeny Todd, and Alice in Wonderland. The couple has two children from their relationship.

Clémence Poésy (Fleur Delacour)

French actress Clémence Poésy plays Fleur Delacour in the fourth, seventh and eighth installments of the Harry Potter series. She is first introduced as one of Harry’s competitors in the Triwizard Tournament. After the visiting school returns to its native country, the audience thinks it’s seent he last of Delacour, however, the part “veela” is shown to be engaged to Ron’s brother, Bill, as the enchanting wizard joins the heroes in the last two films.

Clémence Poésy & Emeric Glayse (Dated)

The actress gave birth to a son named Liam in early 2017, with the father’s identity remaining a secret. Poésy was previously engaged to Emeric Glayse in 2015, with plans to marry in 2016, however, it appears it wasn’t to be. The actress is known for her natural beauty, devoid of make-up and cosmetics. She herself has said that she does not like using them.

Freddie Stroma (Cormac McLaggen)

Cormac McLaggen, a one-time rival of Ron Weasely, and the almost-boyfriend of Hermione Granger. Actor Freddie Stroma does a great job in his role, with the audience generally enjoying their love-hate relationship with his character. In Goblet of Fire Cormac nearly takes Ron’s Keeper spot on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and later escorts Hermione to Slughorn’s Christmas party. Of course, Hermione was only using him to get back at Ron in the first place, and soon ditches him. He is last briefly seen in both Deathly Hallows films on the side of our heroes.

Freddie Stroma & Johanna Braddy (Married)

While Stroma’s Harry Potter counterpart may not be popular at Hogwarts, the actor is one of the few younger cast members who seems to have found permanent love. Stroma met Johanna Braddy, his co-star in the television series UnREAL and began dating in summer 2015. By May the following year they were engaged, before tying the knot in December in Atlanta, Georgia. Stroma is quoted as saying, married life is an “amazing feeling”.

Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley)

Bill Weasely is described as hard-working and down-to-earth with a fondness for a bit of adventure and a bit of glamor. Arguably the most accomplished of the Weasleys, he is both a prefect and Head Boy as well as a star student. Domhall Gleeson plays Bill in the two Deathly Hallows fils, while another actor played Bill in Prisoner of Azkaban. Bill ends up falling in love with Fleur Delacour who together help Harry and gang defeat The Dark Lord once and for all.

Domhnall Gleeson & Juliette Bonass (Dating)

Gleeson has well and truly established himself as one to keep on eye on in Hollywood as he has already acted in the latest Star Wars trilogy as General Hux, the critically acclaimed Ex Machina, The Revenant opposite Leonardo Di Caprio, and on an episode of the television series Black Mirror. He is the son of Brendan Gleeson, who played Mad-Eye Moody in the Harry Potter films. Despite being private about his personal life, it is believed he is dating television producer Juliette Bonass.

Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown)

Lavender is played by no less than three actresses throughout the film series. The first two are merely small non-speaking cameos in Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban, where different actresses played her in each film. Jessie Cave plays her from Half-Blood Prince onwards as she begins a brief relationship with Ron Weasely, much to Hermione’s chagrin. The two breakup due to her mistakenly suspecting that Ron is cheating on her with Hermione. She is killed during the Battle of Hogwarts, although she survives in the books.

Jessie Cave & Alfie Brown (Dated)

Cave dated comedian Alfie Brown for some time where they welcomed two children, named Donnie and Margot, together. Their relationship inspired one of Cave’s comedy festival’s during their time together. It seems their split was amicable as her ex-boyfriend sometimes still makes appearances on her popular YouTube channel’s comedy sketches.

Katie Leung (Cho Chang)

The first woman to steal Harry’s heart, Cho Chang makes her first appearance in the films in Goblet of Fire where Harry asks her to the Yule Ball. However, as Cho was already asked by Cedric Diggory, she declines Harry’s invitation. Following Cedric’s death, Cho initiates a kiss with Harry in Order of the Phoenix. However, the relationship doesn’t last long as she betrays’s Dumbledore’s Army under the influence of Veritaserum potion, losing Harry’s affection in the process.

Katie Leung & Leo Ku (Dated)

Katie Leung, the actress who plays Cho, found love briefly with singer Leo Ku from Hong Kong. The two met while the singer was shooting a music video. Since the Potter films, Leung has continued to act on screen as well as on stage. She also studied painting and photography at the University of Arts in London, a passion on par with her thespian aspirations. Her latest role as in the film The Foreigner starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan.

Jamie Campbell Bower (Young Gellert Grindelwald)

Even the most perceptive Potter fan may be scratching their heads in regard to this actor because he only featured in a brief flashback scene in the seventh installment of the film series. Jamie Campbell Bower played the young Gellert Grindelwald in Deathly Hallows  – Part 1. Grindelwald is a Dark wizard who features on the list of “Most Dangerous Dark Wizards of All Time” and is second only to Voldemort. In Philosopher’s Stone (Sorcerer’s Stone) it is noted on a Chocolate Frog card that he was defeated by Albus Dumbledore in 1945.

Jamie Campbell Bower & Matilda Lowther (Dating)

Bower, after amicably parting ways with fellow Potter actress Bonnie Wright who played Ginny Weasley, has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with model Matilda Lowther. However, the latest reports suggest Bower is dating Lily Collins, daughter of musician Phil Collins. Apart from acting Bower is also the frontman for the band Counterfeit.

Sean Biggerstaff (Oliver Wood)

Oliver Wood is the person who explains the rules of Quidditch to Harry after Professor McGonagall catches the young wizard showing exceptional skill upon his inaugural broomstick ride. Oliver being the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, thus inducts Harry onto the team which made the chosen one the youngest seeker in Hogwarts for over a century. Following his time at Hogwarts, he joins Puddlemere United’s reserve team and returns to help his old school in the Battle of Hogwarts. Oliver is played by actor Sean Biggerstaff who appears in the first two films, and again in the final film.

Sean Biggerstaff & Gaia Weiss (Dated)

The captain of the Quidditch team briefly dated French model and actress Gaia Weiss around 2013. However, their relationship was but a short one as the couple went their separate ways. Since the films, Sean has worked in both film and theatre.

Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy)

Lucius Malfoy, played by English actor Jason Isaacs, has a profound influence on his son Draco Malfoy. So much so in fact, Draco is often heard repeating his favorite phrase, “My father will hear about this!” An undercover Death Eater, he is first introduced in Chamber of Secrets as he plants Tom Riddle’s diary in Ginny Weasley’s potions cauldron in a plot get her to open the Chamber which would lead to the death of all Muggle-born. In the final battle, it seems he has a change of heart and prioritizes the safety of his family above all else.

Jason Isaacs & Emma Hewitt (Married)

Jason Isaacs plays the senior Malfoy in the films, appearing in six of them. The actor has been with his now-wife, BBC documentary filmmaker Emma Hewitt since 1988 later getting married in 2001. With over three decades of togetherness, the couple has two daughters together. The actor has mentioned that he sometimes travels to film premieres on the London subway completely unrecognized.

Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart)

Ah, yes, the deceptively charming Gilderoy Lockhart, the only character J.K. Rowling ever based on a real person (whom she refuses to reveal). Kenneth Branagh, who plays Lockhart appears in the Chamber of Secrets and is seen as a heartthrob and author, with a list of accomplishment so long it would seem too good to be true – which is proven to be just that. He is proven to be a fraud by Harry and Ron as he admits never achieved any great feat, simply altering the memories of those who did, only for him to then take credit. When he tries to use the same spell on Harry and Ron, he inadvertently permanently erases his own memory seeing as he used Ron’s broken wand.

Kenneth Branagh & Emma Thompson (Married & Divorced)

Branagh is a critically acclaimed actor and director and the first man to be nominated in five different categories at the Academy Awards. He was married to fellow actress Emma Thompson (who played Professor Trelawney) from 1989 to 1995 and appeared together in several films. The divorce stemmed from his affair with Helena Bonham Carter (who plays Bellatrix Lestrange), whom Branagh dated for several years until 1999. Ultimately he married film art director Lindsay Brunnock in 2003, to whom he is still married.

Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley)

A stickler for the rules, the third son of Arthur and Molly Weasley, Percy, is known as an uptight toerag according to J.K. Rowling. Due to his blind love for authority, he even cuts off ties with his family at one point, only to reconcile near the end of the series realizing the error of his ways. Following his graduation from Hogwarts, having achieved the distinction of Head Boy, he works for the Ministry of Magic, thereby putting him at odds with his loved ones.

Chris Rankin & Vanessa Beecroft (Dating)

Actor Chris Rankin plays the stone-faced Percy Weasley, and unlike his character, he isn’t dating a Ravenclaw lass, but a muggle named Vanessa Beecroft. The couple lives together with their dog Stanley in Cardiff, Wales.

Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan)

One of the few characters to appear in every one of the eight films, Seamus Finnigan is that guy we all know of but can’t quite recall when queried. Devon Murray plays the character who is one of Harry’s more distant friends. The only time there appears to be some drama in their relationship is when Seamus questions Harry as to his claims regarding Voldemort’s return in Order of the Phoenix. Seamus, of course, apologizes to Harry later on and becomes a late addition to Dumbledore’s army, fighting in the final battle.

Devon Murray & Simonna Milinytė (Dating)

Devon is reportedly dating Lithuanian singer, Simonna Milinytė. The two appear together in the singer’s music video Every Time You Need Me released in 2017. After a break from movies, it seems Devon is back to the big screen as he appears in the 2018 film Damo & Ivor: The Movie. Hopefully, we’ll all soon forget him as the Hogwarts student who kept blowing himself up. Good luck Devon.

Ray Fearon (Firenze)

Firenze’s is best known for helping Harry and his friends from Quirinus Quirrell (disguised as a hooded figure) attacking them in the Forbidden Forrest, after Harry, Hermione, Neville, and Draco were put in there in detention by Hagrid. Although the character does again appear in the fifth book, his only appearance in the films is in Philosopher’s Stone.

Ray Fearon & Elle Macpherson (Dated)

Firenze is played by actor Ray Fearon with CGI. He dated Australian supermodel Elle MacPherson for two years from 2006 to 2007. He has one daughter named Rosa May with his former partner actress Jane Gurnett.

Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall)

Professor Minerva McGonagall is one whom most students at Hogwarts are careful not to cross. As the series wears on, however, we see her seemingly prim exterior give way to elated emotion at times. Despite appearing as a stickler for the rules, she is known to break them at times when there is a greater good at play. It is McGonagall who recommends Harry to the Quidditch team and gifts him his first broomstick, despite both first-year students normally being prohibited from playing the sport or owning brooms. harsh in dealing out punishment, we learn she is part of the Order of the Phoenix and plays her part in assisting both Dumbledore and Harry, in the process of which wrestling back control of Hogwarts from Professor Snape (not realizing he’s a double-agent).

Gary Oldman (Sirius Black)

It’s time to get Sirius. Harry’s godfather, and fan-favorite, Sirius Black, made his entrance in dramatic style in Prisoner of Azkaban. Wrongfully accused of crimes for which his friend, Peter Pettigrew committed, he spent 13 arduous years in the horrific prison, before escaping in the third film. He goes on to assist Harry in several quests, until his untimely death at the hands of his cousin, Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange. Rhys Ifans (Xenophilius Lovegood)

The father of Luna Lovegood, Rhys Xenophilius Lovegood, makes his sole film appearance in the first Deathly Hallows installment. His screen time is short but highly eventful as he is the one who explains to Harry, Ron, and Hermione the legend of the Deathly Hallows. Described as having being eccentric looking with shoulder-length candy floss white hair, it becomes apparent where Luna gets her zaniness from. It is mentioned that he is the editor of the conspiracy theory magazine, The Quibbler.

Rhys Ifans & Anna Friel (Dated)

In Deathly Hallows – Part 1, Xenophilius is played by Welsh actor, Rhys Ifans who is known for a variety of film roles such as Spike in Notting Hill, Dr. Curt Conners/The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man, as well as Mycroft Holmes in the Sherlock Holmes television series, Elementary. It seems they have a unique arrangement as Gambon shifts his time with his wife, and mistress, Phillipa Hart, who is 25 years his junior, a relationship which has gone on for 17 years and spawned two children. We’re not sure Dumbledore would approve, Sir Gambon.

Kelly MacDonald (The Grey Lady)

The Ravenclaw house ghost, who is later revealed to be Helena Ravenclaw, the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw, whom the Hogwarts house is named after. Appearing in first and last films, the actress is played by two different actresses, Nina Young, and  Kelly Macdonald, respectively. In his sole appearance, he successfully manipulates proceedings in order to not only have Harry participate in the Triwizard tournament, but ensures he wins it, as part of a deviously orchestrated plot to revive the Dark Lord. Throughout the film, we see Moody drinking, later revealed to be polyjuice potion. The three appeared together in the BBC series Cranford in 2007.

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger)

Hermione Granger, love of Ron Weasley’s life, a best friend of Harry Potter, and together they form the triumvirate which takes down Voldemort for good. It is arguably difficult to see Emma Watson, who plays Hermione, in a different role without her Hogwart’s character coming to mind. Known for her intellect and cleverness, Hermione is described by J.K. Rowling as resembling herself when she was younger.

Emma Watson & Will Adamowicz (Dated)

Despite her attempts to keep her romantic life private, the actress has succeeded little in doing so. She previously dated Oxford University rugby star Will Adamowicz, as well as other Brits. She stated, “English guys are very well put together.” The two met at Oxford University and were on and off for some time before ending things for good in 2014. The pair reportedly split due to Watson’s tight schedule.

Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom)

Author J.K. Rowling missed a great opportunity to pull one over reader’s when she didn’t conjure up the prophecy of the chosen one could equally apply to Neville Longbootn as it does to Harry Potter. Portrayed as bumbling, disorganized character and a rather mediocre student, although he seems to be quite adept at Herbology. Neville proves to be an important member of Dumbledore’s Army and is the one who destroys Voldemort’s final Horcrux, by decapitating the snake Nagini.

Matthew Lewis & Angela Jones (Married)

Matthew Lewis, who portrayed Neville in all the films, met his wife, Angela Jones at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Orlando, Florida in July 2016. Lewis proposed to Jones at the Eiffel Tower later that same year, with the couple marrying in May 2018. The new Mrs. Lewis says of her husband, “I never believed in soulmates until we met.”

James Phelps (Fred Weasley)

Together with twin brother, George, Fred Weasley is known for his fun-loving, troublemaking nature in the films. The two are often addressed as one due to their seemingly identical personalities., so much so that their parents often have a difficult time telling them apart. The twins come to Harry’s assistance in several ways throughout the films, such as breaking helping him escape house arrest from Privet Drive in a flying Muggle car with their brother Ron, giving Harry the Marauder’s Map, and being part of Dumbledore’s Army. Fred is killed in the final battle, leaving George bereft of his twin brother.

James Phelps & Simone Burke (Dated)

James Phelps who plays Fred Weasley was linked with American film producer Simone Burke at one time. James later met and married Annika Ostle following the breakup with Burke. Along with his real-life identical twin brother, Oliver, who played George, the two support a number of charitable causes and often make public appearances in support of music and sports.

Oliver Phelps (George Weasley)

Like his identical twin brother, George Weasley is known for being Hogwart’s school clown. Neither is mentioned without the other it seems, and the pair appears in each installment of the series. The two serve as the Beaters in Gryffindor’s Quidditch team and after realizing a career in academia is not something they wish to pursue, they decide to leave the school in style by turning a corridor into a swamp and setting off fireworks inside the main hall during an exam. George would be the sole surviving twin following the Battle of Hogwarts and seems to take the loss of his brother to heart, before eventually finding success in the business named Weasleys’ Wizarding Wheezes the two founded together.

Oliver Phelps & Katy Humpage (Married)

The twin brothers seem to have a penchant for mimicking each other off-screen as they did on-screen, with James marrying a year before Oliver in 2016. Oliver married Katy Humpage in 2015 in Tutbury in the United Kingdom. Oliver is 13 minutes older than his twin brother, and one way to tell the twins apart is by the mole on the right side of Oliver’s neck, James doesn’t have one.

David Thewlis (Remus Lupin)

Remus Lupin makes his first appearance in Prisoner of Azkaban as Hogwart’s new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Later it is revealed that the well-liked teacher is a werewolf. A childhood friend of Harry’s father, he later realizes Sirius Black was wrongfully framed and convinces Harry, Ron, and Hermione of his innocence. He later leaves Hogwarts after his secret is revealed by Snape, and joins the newly reformed Order of the Phoenix. The professor eventually marries Nymphadora Tonks and names Harry as their child’s godfather, before the couple die in the Battle of Hogwarts.

David Thewlis & Anna Friel (Dated)

Actor David Thewlis who plays Remus met actress Anna Friel on a flight to Cannes and began a relationship with her in 2001. The couple were together until 2010 and have one child together. Friel would go onto date Rhys Ifans (who plays Xenophilius Lovegood). Rather ironically, Thewlis has admitted he is often mistaken for Ifans, “Twice a week, people come up to me and say, ‘You were great in Notting Hill.’ The public seems to think we are the same person.” Perhaps, it’s worth checking for polyjuice potion, professor.

Alfred Enoch (Dean Thomas)

Played by Alfred Enoch, the character of Dean Thomas is one of Harry’s classmates in Gryffindor. Although Harry and Dean are chums, the two did fight on the same side in the Battle of Hogwarts. Despite Harry jinxing Dean “into a jelly” for making out with his beloved “Ginny” while they dated, Dean is one of the students who believes Harry and Dumbledore when they say Voldemort has returned.

Alfred Enoch & Aja Naomi King (Allegedly Dating)

Following his adventures in the Potterverse, Enoch appeared in several television shows and was a season regular on the hit show How to Get Away with Murder. The show has rewarded Enoch in more than one way, as he appears to have found love with his co-star Aja Namoi King, with the two rumored to be dating. Enoch has admitted he currently has a girlfriend but hasn’t named names as of yet. Suspiciously, the two appear to be quite cozy in photos. Dean always was the under-the-radar kind of guy.

John Cleese (Nearly Headless Nick)

Who could forget Nearly Headless Nick, the most loveable of all Ghosts in the Potterverse? The Gryffindor ghost, formally known as Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, is played by actor John Cleese, of Monty Python fame. Despite his preference for people to call him by his full name, everyone prefers calling him by Sir Nicholas or just plain Nick.

John Cleese & Jennifer Wade (Married)

John Cleese is an acting veteran and widely considered a comedic genius. Known for a variety of roles in both film and television, he is still going strong after spending more than 50 years in the entertainment industry. It took him 73 years and three previous marriages to find to “experience love” and marry his fourth wife Jennifer Wade. May the real Sir Nicholas remain ghostless.

Celeb’s Kids Head Off to Prom

For all high school students, prom night is the most important night. You get to dress up, take pictures, and dance the night away. There’s also the possibility of being Prom King or Queen which adds an electric excitement to the already magical night!

Children of celebs are no different and enjoy prom just as much or even more thanks to the effort their famous parents put in to make it the best night for their kids. Here is a list of the most glamorous celeb children on the way to their proms!

Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis

The petite and striking beauty Lily-Rose Depp is the daughter of brilliant Johnny Depp and his musician ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis. With parents like these, it seems right that Lily Rose is equally talented and has already become a recognized name in the world of modeling and fashion.

On her prom day, she looked perfect and radiant with her hair down and natural makeup. Her gown was an amazing peach, snake-textured dress, and on TheKevinSmith Instagram page Kevin wrote:

“Last night, the @yogahosers went to Prom! @harleyquinnnn_ & @lilyrose_depp had dates of course but (ever on guard for thee) they were there strictly to chew bubble gum and squish Bratzis! And from all reports, they were all out of bubble gum,”

Battling Anorexia

Lily-Rose is an actress and model and is also recovering from an eating disorder which she has battled with. She has become an inspiration for many others when it comes to deal with eating disorders. SHe talks about it whenever she knows that a young crowd is listening.

Lily-Rose Depp is now in a relationship with actor Timothée Chalamet. Apparently, they are the new A-list couple, but that is, of course, if their relationship is real. It has been rumored for so long that we don’t really know, but these are very strong rumors.

Since they finished filming the historical drama The King, they have been spotted together in several locations around NYC. Many witnesses (as if this is a crime) said that they looked very “together”.

In 2016 Lily-Rose tried out a singers’ life when she sang three songs from the Yoga Hosers soundtrack with Harley Quinn Smith. Since then she hasn’t been seen doing any musical productions/ maybe she has understood what it means and decided to stick to acting and modeling.

She’s been part of 7 films to date (2018), with the 2016’s The Dancer earning her two Most Promising Actress awards.

Vanessa Paradis began her career as a singer with a unique childish voice and a famous gap in her front teeth. The song, for the older folks, was “Joe le taxi,” which became an immediate worldwide hit.  She has 6 music albums and has acted in 24 films, earning her 11 different awards in acting and music.

Vanessa Paradis has just recently popped back up in a feature film called “Knife+Heart” by French director Yann Gonzalez. The film was debuted in an official competition at the Cannes Film Festival this year. The film takes place in the 70’s, and Paradis plays a gay porn producer whose productions are stalked by a masked killer.

Jaden Smith, son of Will Smith

Although Jaden Smith comes from a family of Hollywood royalty with his parents being the one and only Will and Jada Smith, he has managed to make his own name for himself with his rapping and amazing sense of style.

Wild Night

The teen kept It simple and sleek when he headed off to his prom night with a black suite finished off with a gold chain. We got to glimpse into his private life, seeing snaps with his girlfriend and prom date, actress Odessa Adlon. And it seemed their night was just as wild, judging from there social media it seems these two only made it home after 5 am!

Hold your corsage, there’s more…

People Who Realized Their Partners Were Clueless

No two relationships are alike, and judging by some of these people, it appears even within a relationship it seems no two minds think alike. In an age where we have cellphones perhaps many of these situations could have been avoided if a photo was sent to the partner, but in other cases, not even that would have saved them.

They say a sense of humor is a key component of a successful relationship and fortunately for many of these couples, they were able to see the funny side to these head-scratching situations. From failing to follow simple shopping instructions to mistaking everyday things for the most bizarre items. The beauty of a relationship is truly measured by how we deal with our differences.

The First Cut Is The Deepest

There’s a right and wrong way to open any package. When it comes to unboxing cables, the most important thing would be to not cut the cables. Or so you would think. When this man’s wife wanted to open her new cables she inadvertently cut the cable itself. We’re not sure this can be salvaged but at least there’s enough rope to, well you know…

Then Where Are You?

This sounds more like a brain fade moment than a genuine question. Because we really find it hard to believe anyone could mistake a star in the night sky for planet Earth. If we can see Earth in the sky, then where are we? We want to know!

Curiosity Killed Christmas

This guy should thank his lucky stars that he got out when he did. It’s safe to say nobody wants to be in a relationship with someone who actually believes a cat bought them a present. I mean, if even her parents backed her up, you really don’t want to be part of this family. It wouldn’t be a “purrfect” relationship by any means.

It’s The Thought That Counts

Which one of us hasn’t been ripped off and fallen for a tourist trap? This is a great example of being content and saying “it’s the thought that counts”. We’re thinking this was a last minute gift by the boyfriend who didn’t really analyze what he was buying.

Under Lock And Key

Apparently, this guy says that his girlfriend didn’t want to lose the keys to her lock. She forgot one crucial detail, however, she herself won’t be able to use the lock herself. The point of locking a lock is that you will be able to open it when you need to. Luckily all she lost here was the lock and keys, and nothing more.

Moon ≠ Sun

There’s a lot of things one can learn in a relationship, but basic astronomy isn’t one you would expect to teach your 30-something-year-old girlfriend. In fact, we’re not sure she even went to school judging by how this conversation went.

Prickly Thermometer

This girlfriend told her boyfriend that she wasn’t feeling well and asked him to buy a thermometer on his way home from work. However, he bought one but not for human use but one to check the temperature of the meat. Darling, please make sure he doesn’t see you as just another piece of meat. This should raise some red flags.

Have You Tried Turning It Off And No?

This guy’s girlfriend just asked him what the “No” on this electric blanket meant. Maybe she just had a long day, or perhaps she didn’t yet have her morning coffee, but we’re sure she realized her mistake soon enough. “No” means “Yes” for once.

The Best High School Yearbook Quotes EVER

We all remember that fateful day when we had to come up with our high school yearbook quote. Its that time in the school career where you finally have a chance to show your real self to your peers, teachers, friends and years down the line when you show your yearbook to your children! Many decide to go with profound quotes, some are bizarre, and some purely hilarious!

This list is dedicated to the best high school quotes around. Get ready to see those kids who made history with their brilliant one liners. While some become heroes, others revel in their newfound villainy! Scroll through and see for yourself.

Should Probably Take Her Own Advice

“When a ten is speaking, all you fives quiet down and listen up.”

Its hard to understand the exact context of her quote, but if you take is at face value it seems she is one overconfident girl who actually thinks she has the right to rate her own attractiveness! Not to mention rating other people a five…she couldn’t have been the most popular girl around with that attitude!

I Won’t Hesitate #1

“I’ve learned to say ‘here’ when the teacher hesitates while taking attendance.”

Okay, this one is hilarious. When you read this quote at first you may scratch your head, but once you see that this guy is named Oluwadabria Ogunwuyi (try say it, we dare you) you understand. Props to this guy for putting his teachers out of the misery of trying to pronounce his name every time!

It’s All In The Name

“Yes, it’s my real name.”

This whole situation is hilarious. From the face he is pulling, to his name, to the quote. It’s understandable that people must think he’s pulling their leg when he introduces himself as ‘Rowdy Negro’, but alas its true! We wonder if his parents were drunk at his naming or if they decided they may as well make his first name as ridiculous as his last!

C’s Get Degrees

“I started high school with straight A’s, now I’m not even straight.”

We guess that’s one way to come out! We wonder if this guy had come out the closet before his yearbook or if he decided to make that one line his big reveal? Either way, Go Christian for embracing the real you, gay or straight!

That’s Some Serious Shade, Pun Intended.

“I only wear this to give the rest of you girls a chance.”

Now, this girl has pizazz, and we love it! Talk about throwing slight shade while totally embracing your confidence! Sometimes it is sad that one has to defend their religious attire, but this girl does it in style.

Closet Case

“Of course I dress well. I didn’t spend all that time in the closet for nothing.”

Another yearbook quote, another step out the closet! This guy certainly does seem to have kickass style, and as he says, he earned it! We also have to give a shoutout to that awesome hair of his…can we get an appointment with that closet hairdresser please?

We’ll Take Your Word For It

“I’ve never had a bad hair day all of high school.”

Another one of the perks of this religious attire- gone are the days of spending hours annoyingly fixing your hair! It must cut out a hell of a lot of time not to mention eliminate any possibilities of a ‘bad hair day’.

The Science Punster

“I make terrible science puns, but only periodically.”

A nerd with one great sense of humor! Disproving that geeks aren’t funny, Rhiannon blessed her yearbook with a quote that’s bound to make anyone with more than 3 brain cells laugh or at least crack a smile!

Message Received

“My ears give out [a] better signal than the school Wi-Fi.”

It’s refreshing to see someone making fun of themselves, and Jose seems to be the king of laughing at himself! Poking fun as his big ears, he fully embraces himself. And after all, everyone knows there’s no party like a Wi-Fi party!
