Marvel and DC Characters in Real Life

Ryan Reynolds – Deadpool

Ryan Reynolds has had his misses, but he also had his hit in 2016.  He bombed miserably with The Green Lantern as well as his first Deadpool attempt in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.  Deadpool made up for all that, becoming the highest- grossing rated R movie ever.  Guardians of the Galaxy was funny, but Deadpool raised the bar.

Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively

While Green Lantern was a box office flop, Ryan Reynolds can be thankful for the movie for one reason; meeting Blake Lively on set.  In 2012, the couple married and currently, have two daughters.  Blake Lively has also gone on to some box-office smashes like Café Society and The Age of Adaline.

Elizabeth Olsen – Scarlet Witch

In 2015, we learned that Elizabeth Olsen, baby sister of her more famous siblings the twins Mary-Kate and Ashley, had acting chops all her own.  In 2015, Elizabeth played Wanda Maximoff, Scarlet Witch, in the film Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Elizabeth Olsen & Robbie Arnett

Elizabeth Olsen has gone on to play Scarlet Witch twice more; in Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: Civil War.  While these movies have titles about “war,” Elizabeth is a lover, not a fighter.  She’s been dating Robbie Arnett, singer and songwriter for Milo Greene, the indie quartet.  The couple frequently clowns around and cozies up on Elizabeth’s Instagram.

Wonder Woman

One of the most heavily anticipated movies of a DC comic book superhero to come out in a long time was the film Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot as our knight in shining armor.

Also known as Diana Prince, Wonder Woman is an Amazonian princess and a veritable demigod.

In the recent 2017 film, she uses her superhuman abilities to track down Ares, the god of war, scouring WWI-era Europe for him, and doing her best to save humanity in the process.

Gal Gadot

Gal Gadot, the Israeli actress who absolutely killed it in her role as Wonder Woman. Prior to Wonder Woman, she was mainly known for playing the role of Gisele Yashar in three The Fast and The Furious movies, racing cars and sometimes flipping them with some of the best in the business.

She was a beauty queen and model before her big break in Hollywood. Gal is married to businessman Yaron Varsano, and they have two daughters together.

Natalie Portman - Jane Foster

The love interest of Thor on Earth was the fame fatal of the first two Thor films. I mean, the whole storyline kind of happened because of, due to or for her. So it was a surprise to NOT see her in the next Thor related films. Although if Marvel has plans for bringing her back, she's totally up for it. In an interview she gave not long ago she said: "I’m completely open to everything, but I have no news about that." (Laughs).

Natalie Portman & Benjamin Millepied

depositphotos

Benjamin is an amazing French dancer and choreographer. He has been living in the US since 1995 when he became part of the New York City Ballet. Since then he became a big name in dance and choreography and was asked to choreograph the 2010 Oscar-winning film, Black Swan. And that is where he met his future wife Natalie. They married in 2012 and have 2 kids.

Zoe Saldana – Gamora

Zoe Saldana was the lovably lost Gamora, daughter of Thanos, in Guardians of the Galaxy.  Guardians of the Galaxy was a wonderfully lighthearted Marvel franchise that proved that life, even in other galaxies, should never be taken too seriously.  Zoe shone on the big screen as she tried to find her own place in the galaxy.

Zoe Saldana & Marco Perego

In 2011, it seemed Zoe would cry a galaxy of tears after her eleven-year beau, Keith Britton, and she called it quits.  Just two years later, Zoe would find the sun in her galaxy again when she met Marco Perego.  In June 2013, Zoe wed the Italian artist in a private wedding ceremony.  The two unconventionally yet adorable, adopted each other’s surnames:  Marco took on the name of Perego Saldana and Zoe became Saldana Perego.  The doting parents have three sons, and plan on giving them the surname Perego-Saldana.

Paul Bettany – Vision

Paul Bettany was a Marvel star before we even officially met him.  Bettany was the voice-over for J.A.R.V.I.S, the AI system of Ironman Tony Stark for several of the films.  In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony Stark used his incredible smarts to match J.A.R.V.I.S. up with Ultron, The Mind Stone, Thor, Tony and whomever else was there, and make an android called Vision.  Bettany was a natural for the android, whose mind stone gives him the powers of a god.

Paul Bettany & Jennifer Connelly

Paul Bettany met his equally famous wife, Jennifer Connelly, on the set filming A Beautiful Mind.  Bettany had other roles under his belt before becoming a Marvel in his own right; he has starred in The da Vinci Code and Master and Commander.  His wife is better known for her performances in Noah, Requiem for a Dream, and Blood Diamond.  In 2003, she played Bruce Banner’s crush in Hulk.

Forest Whittaker – Zuri

Forest Whitaker certainly brought his name to the game in Black Panther.  He had formerly won a Best Actor Academy Award for his portrayal of Idi Amin for the film, The Last King of Scotland.  Forest plays Zuri, the trusted servant loyal to the Kingdom of Wakanda; his character becomes very important as the story progresses.

Forest Whittaker & Keisha Nash

In 1996, Forest Whitaker met his bride to be while filming Blow Away.  Although his wife, Keisha Nash, is twelve years younger than Forest, it was love at first sight.  Forest has been with Keisha nearly his entire acting career and the two have four children.  Keisha has had some minor roles, such as in the movie Proud, but her name isn’t as well-known in the industry as the legendary Forest Whitaker.

Sophie Turner – Jean Grey

Sophie Turner stepped into Famke Janssen’s shoes as a younger Jean Grey in the smash hit movie X-Men: Apocalypse.  Jean is trying to figure out her powers, which could make her the most powerful mutant ever or turn her into a danger for herself and everyone around her.  Jean Grey, incidentally, became the latter of the choices.

Sophie Turner & Joe Jonas

Let's begin with the news - she wasn't crying because of Jonas! It was a regular period, so stop the rumors now!

With Sophie Turner already creating quite a name for herself by portraying Sansa Stark on the insanely wild HBO series, Game of Thrones, it was only natural that she be chosen as Jean Grey.  The actress, who is only in her 20’s, has a promising future in front of her; especially with her beau, Joe Jonas, who she was linked to as far back as November of 2016.  The two became Instagram official, announcing their engagement via the popular social media platform.

Rebecca Romijn – Mystique

Rebecca Romijn was the original Mystique, otherwise known as Raven, before Jennifer Lawrence adapted and evolved the role in the latest installments of the X-Men films.  Mystique is a blue hued reptilian who can shapeshift into anyone or anything living and works with Magneto to free the world of the anti-mutants.

Rebecca Romijn & Jerry O’Connell

Rebecca was better known as Rebecca Romijn-Stamos after she tied the knot with John Stamos, star of the sit-com Full House.  The couple decided to call it quits after a few short years.  Rebecca began dating Jerry O’Connell, an actor whose claim to fame included iconic roles in big movies like Jerry Maguire and Stand by Me.

Rebecca and Jerry are proud parents to twin daughters, Charlie (namesake of O’Connell’s brother) and Dolly (named for Dolly Parton).

Daniel Kaluuya – W’Kabi

Daniel Kaluuya first caught the public’s eye for his role in Black Mirror.  Daniel, a British actor, is also known for his parts in other films, like Kick-Ass 2, and has won the Best Actor Academy Award for Get Out.  Our favorite part for Daniel, though, is his portrayal of W’Kabi, the ever-challenged royal advisor and head of the border tribe of Wakanda in Marvel’s universe.

Daniel Kaluuya & Amandla Crichlow

Daniel Kaluuya is a rather mysterious fellow, despite all his recent red-carpet appearances for his multiple award nominations.  He is accompanied by the equally enigmatic Amandla Crichlow, who has appeared on a few British TV shows like The Bill and Prime Suspect.  Not very much is known about Crichlow, but she seems very dedicated to her beau.

Dave Bautista – Drax The Destroyer

Dave Bautista may have a lot of people fooled, but no worries; Drax the Destroyer isn’t all bad.  The Guardians of the Galaxy character certainly has his reasons to seem intimidating; after all, MCU’s supervillain Thanos did kill his entire family.  Drax is looking for much deserved revenge, and he may get it in Avengers: Infinity War.

Dave Bautista & Sarah Jade

Dave Bautista had his initial claim to fame in the WWE ring, where he was known as the guy we loved to hate, Batista.  He’s had a few KO’s in his day, for sure; Dave has three marriage under his wrestling belt, and has two daughters, one of whom made him a grandfather before he turned forty.  He is currently married to Sarah Jade, a competitive pole dancer.

Hugh Jackman – Wolverine

Even if you’ve never seen a Marvel movie, you know that Hugh Jackman is best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise.  Wolverine’s power is that when he is angry, (which is really quite frequently), his hands grow a set of lethal claws.  More recently, Jackman retired his claws after the last installment of the franchise.  In Logan, he played an older version of himself in a film that was basically a western starring Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman & Debora-Lee Furness

Not many other couples on this list can claim the longevity of Hugh Jackman and fellow Aussie Debora Furness.  The couple met in 1995 during the filming of Correlli, an Australian TV show, marrying about a year later.  Though the two have experienced personal tragedy when Debora had two miscarriages, the pair went on to adopt two children and are still together, seemingly for the long haul.

Evan Peters – Quicksilver

Quicksilver was played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the film Avengers: Age of Ultron, but it wasn’t until Evan Peters was cast in the role of Pietro Maximoff in X-Men: Days of Future Past that the character developed its depth and complexity.  Thanks to Evan Peters, Quicksilver has become one of the most popular Marvel characters.

Evan Peters & Emma Roberts

While they first worked together on American Horror Story, Evan Peters and Emma Roberts were just coworkers.  It wasn’t until filming Adult World that the couple became an item; a year after the filming was completed, the pair announced their engagement.  The road has been anything but straight for these two; they have been on again, off again and have had some domestic issues.  Currently, though, the couple is together and seems to be doing well.

Angela Bassett – Ramonda

Iconic Angela Bassett played Ramonda, T’Chaka’s wife, in Marvel’s Black Panther.  Although her role wasn’t huge, it was still a very important one.  Throughout the movie, Ramonda wore headgears that covered her hair until she finally let her long white dreadlocks, a symbol of her old age, be seen.  After showing this, she takes on the role of Queen to stabilize the Kingdom of Wakanda and secure her peoples’ future.

Angela Bassett & Courtney B. Vance

Another couple with the coveted power of longevity, Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance met in 1980.  Courtney B. Vance starred in a few films of his own, like The Hunt for Red October.  The pair knew each other for 17 years before tying the knot.  Nine years after the wedding, the pair became the parents of twins.  The dynamic couple co-wrote a book together called Friends: A Love Story.

Robert Downey Jr. – Iron Man

Iron Man was the character that got it all started.  In the latest Marvel franchises, the superheroes refuse to play it straight, and are wisecracking all the way to battle.  Robert Downey Jr. is perfect for Tony Stark; he portrays the lovable but annoying know-it-all better than anyone else could have.  Marvel fans are anxiously awaiting to see if Iron Man can survive through Infinity War.

Robert Downey Jr. & Susan Levin

Robert Downey Jr. could certainly use a break from his troubled past, and that is exactly what he found in his wife, Susan Levin.  Since 2015, the couple has become parents of both a girl and a boy, and it looks like Robert Downey Jr. found his saving grace in Susan when the couple was filming Gothika.

Chris Hemsworth – Thor

Who would ever imagine that Thor could operate in the same world as the Incredible Hulk and Iron Man, but when Chris Hemsworth grabbed the hammer of Mjolnir and banged some comedy into MCU’s universe in 2011.  Hands down, though, the audience loved the funny Thor installment directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok.

Chris Hemsworth & Elsa Pataky

Chris Hemsworth had a legendary encounter of his own in 2010 when he met Elsa Pataky, a Spanish actress.  Pataky had a few roles of her own in her career in films like the Fast & Furious franchise and Snakes on a Plane.  Elsa stole Chris’ heart and the couple was married the year that they met, before Thor was even released. The couple and their three children have moved to Byron Bay, Australia for a change of pace from L.A.

Mark Ruffalo – The Incredible Hulk

The Incredible Hulk has been played by several people throughout the years.  It began with Lou Ferrigno’s interpretation as the original Hulk and carried through Edward Norton and Eric Bana with very mixed results.  It wasn’t until Mark Ruffalo adopted the character that the Hulk claimed lasting success for MCU, after his initial start in The Avengers, he has been playing the Angry Green Man ever since.  In fact, Bruce Banner, we DO like you when you’re angry.

Mark Ruffalo & Sunrise Coigney

Sunrise Coigney has been Mark Ruffalo’s champion since 2000 when they were married.  The couple has two daughters and a son.  Sunrise has stood by Mark Ruffalo through thick and thin, from the loss of his brother to the removal of a brain tumor.

Bradley Cooper – Rocket Raccoon

You may not recognize Bradley Cooper in his raccoon costume, but that is his voice for his role as Rocket.  Bradley Cooper’s rendition of Rocket Racoon has Marvel fans ecstatic; Bradley, well known for his impressions of his fellow actors, was a great choice for Guardians of the Galaxy.  Who knew a movie with a talking raccoon and a tree with a one syllable vocabulary could have so many devoted fans?

Bradley Cooper & Irina Shayk

Irina Shayk had just ended things in 2015 after a five-year relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo, world-famous soccer player when she struck up a new relationship with Rocket Racoon himself, Bradley Cooper.  Before the year’s end, Cooper moved into her New York apartment.  Two years later, the couple became parents to one daughter, Lea de Seine.

Paul Rudd – Ant-Man

While MCU movies tend to have comedic overtones regardless of the subject, Ant-Man made it a Marvel art form.  It was only reasonable to cast Paul Rudd as Scott Lang.  Paul Rudd, known for comedic romps like I Love You, Man and This is 40, stepped right into the role of criminal turned good guy.  Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, turned his superhero persona over to Scott Lang in the film.  Hank Pym was portrayed by, surprisingly, Michael Douglas.

Paul Rudd & Julie Yaeger

Paul Rudd may be somewhat of a newcomer in the Hollywood spotlight, but he is very experienced in his role ass husband to Julie Yaeger.  The pair has been married for over fifteen years, tying the knot in 2003.  They are parents of two, daughter Darby and son Jack.  Paul Rudd has starred in other comedic roles in films like Knocked Up and Anchorman, and in 2015, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Josh Brolin – Thanos

Josh Brolin has the market cornered in Marvel; in fact, he is cast for two roles for MCU.  His first role, The Mad Titan Thanos, is the supervillain of Avengers: Infinity War, and he is also set to play Nathan Summers, Cable, in the Deadpool sequel.

Josh Brolin & Kathryn Boyd

Josh Brolin was introduced to us as far back as 1985 when he portrayed Brand Walsh in The Goonies.  His acting career had already included many critically acclaimed films, including Milk and No Country for Old Men prior to being cast by MCU.  For nearly ten years, Brolin was wed to Diane Lane, but the couple separated in 2014.  Josh Brolin became romantically involved with Kathryn Boyd, who he married in 2016.

Benedict Cumberbatch – Dr. Strange

Everyone loves Benedict Cumberbatch, and everyone loves Dr. Stephen Strange; this was a match made in heaven.  In the film, the good doctor is a neurosurgeon who loses the use of his hands in a car wreck.   He goes seeking a healer in Nepal but ends up in a strange dojo that teaches the magical arts instead; Dr. Strange now becomes a magical sorcerer.  Because Dr. Strange carries an Infinity Stone, it’s expected that his role in Avengers: Infinity Wars will be an important one.

Benedict Cumberbatch & Sophie Hunter

Benedict Cumberbatch is one of those celebrities who leads a quiet and private personal life.  In 2014, though, that all changed when he announced his engagement to Sophie Hunter in The Times’ Forthcoming Marriages column.  Having known Sophie for almost twenty years, they wasted no time tying the knot and, within six months, the couple was wed on the Isle of Wight, at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul.

Jessica Alba – Invisible Woman

Jessica Alba can’t see a reason for a decent version of the Fantastic Four franchise.  The originals, starring Jessica, are far superior to the recent reboot, directed by Josh Trank but they still never garnered a large fan base, critically speaking.  Jessica Alba was cast as the Invisible Woman, Sue Storm.

Jessica Alba & Cash Warren

While the Fantastic Four movies were less than memorable, Jessica did meet the love of her life while filming the first in 2004.  Cash Warren, son of famous actor Michael Warren, found love at first sight and within four years, they were wed in Los Angeles.  They have three children, with their last being born New Year’s Eve of 2017 and named Hayes Alba Warren.

Chris Evans – Captain America

Chris Evans has famously played Steve Rogers, the skinny man who wanted to be in the armed forces for World War II.  The cult classic character, Captain America, is morphed into a super soldier, and then cryogenically frozen.  When Steve wakes up in modern America, he joins The Avengers team.  His famous shield has been left behind after he developed new beliefs.

Chris Evans & Jenny Slate

Jenny Slate, the actress and comedienne, had separated from Dean Fleischer Camp, a filmmaker in Hollywood, in 2016 before meeting Chris Evans.  While the couple did break up after a year together, they are reportedly romantically linked again.  The couple shares romantic tweets on Twitter.

Anna Paquin – Rogue

Anna Paquin gave Marvel fans a unique view of the X-Men when the film was shot from the perspective of Rogue.  Rogue has the power to absorb the powers of other mutants and can absorb their memories as well.  Paquin played the role of Rogue in the franchise installment X-Men: Days of Future Past; this movie downplayed her character until she only had a cameo appearance.  A direct to DVD iteration, called The Rogue Cut, focused on the character much more than the original movie had.

Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer

Anna Paquin may not be a superhero any longer, but she takes a bite out of the small screen with her vampire role in True Blood.  In 2007, when the True Blood pilot was released, she began dating Stephen Moyer, her co-star in the series.  In 2010, the couple was married.  Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have twins, and Anna is the stepmom to two more children though Stephen.  Anna Paquin dropped from the public eye to care for her family.

Michael Fassbender – Magneto

After Ian McKellen left the role of Magneto, Michael Fassbender stepped in as a younger version of the villain.  Magneto’s superpower is that he can manipulate metals; his goal is to stop humans, who he believes are the oppressors to the mutants of the world.  Michael has made Magneto his own.

Michael Fassbender & Alicia Vikander

Michael Fassbender appears to be magnetic on the set, attracting his co-stars with his invisible forces.  In 2012, the normally private Fassbender started a relationship with his Shame co-star, Nicole Beharie.  In 2014, he did it again on the set of The Light Between Oceans with costar Alicia Vikander.  In 2017, Alicia and Michael were married in a private wedding ceremony and are currently living in Lisbon, Portugal.

Halle Berry – Storm

Storm is played by Halle Berry in the original X-Men movies.  While the role has since been claimed by Alexandra Shipp, it was Halle Berry who first introduced us to a mutant whose power was the ability to control the weather.  Halle Berry was already quite famous, starring in many movies that include The Flintstones, Jungle Fever, and Boomerang.  Her Marvel fans, however, will always remember that it was Storm who catapulted her to success.

Halle Berry & Alex Da Kid

Halle Berry can’t seem to predict her relationships quite as well as she could control the weather.  She has been married three times:  Eric Benet, Olivier Martinez, and David Justice.  Halle’s latest relationship was with Alex Da Kid, a British music producer who has had a string of successful songs including Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie,” Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive,” and B.o.B’s  “Airplanes.”

Sebastian Stan – Bucky Barnes

The MCU really enjoys twists and turns, and Bucky Barnes was one of the mot complex turns of them all.  Bucky Barnes, played by Sebastian Stan, was Steve Roger’s best friend at the beginning of Captain America: The First Avenger.  Little did the audience realize that Barnes, who was believed to be dead, had been cryogenically frozen, too; he was brainwashed and was working as an assassin for Hydra.  Now that he is healed, Marvel fans are anxiously wondering where Bucky Barnes will go from here.

Sebastian Stan & Margarita Levieva

Sebastian Stan’s real-life story is much straighter forward than Bucky Barnes’ plot line.  Working in 2009 on the comedy Spread, Sebastian’s eye wandered to Margarita Levieva, and stayed for good.  Margarita, a Russian actress, has been in movies like Adventureland and most recently played opposite James Franco in a TV series, The Deuce.  While they were reportedly only good friends following the release of Spread, they made themselves an official duo in 2014.

The women of DC Comics – movies vs. real life

Amy Adams As Lois Lane

Ah, don’t we all just love those classic names from the DC comics, such as Lex Luthor, or in this case, Lois Lane? They always just seem to have a nice ring to them.

Lois Lane may not have any superpowers or super fighting abilities for that matter, but she is a very prominent part of the Superman universe – she’s a passionate journalist, and she’s Superman’s love interest.

Played by the talented Amy Adams in the most recent adaptation, Man of Steel, she certainly does the part justice.

Fun fact: Amy Adams was a guest star in an episode of Smallville - The hit series with Tom Welling about Clark Kent's early years before he became Superman.

Amy Adams In Real Life

Miss Adams is also a very well known actress in Hollywood, and there are many movies we could name that you may have seen her in.

She gave an outstanding performance as the love interest of Mickey in the hit drama film about two boxers, The Fighter.

Adams also has the ability to act in less heavy dramatic roles, such as the most recent adaptation of the Muppets movie, starring alongside Jason Segel. She was married to actor Darren Le Gallo in 2015.

Malin Akerman As Laurie Jupiter (Silk Spectre II)

Now let us enter the Watchmen universe. Laurie Jupiter, daughter of Sally Jupiter, is the main female protagonist of the film, and her alias name is Silk Spectre II.

She is essentially the successor of her mother (Silk Spectre I), but she wasn’t so enthusiastic about entering the family business.

She actually always wanted to work with animals, but due to pressure from her mother, she followed her path. In Watchmen, she is portrayed by the talented Malin Akerman.

Malin Akerman In Real Life

Malin Akerman is a super talented actress, with a wide array of styles.

For instance, not only is she able to play a superhero, but she also has starred in comedy films such as The Heartbreak Kid with Ben Stiller, where she gives a hilarious performance.

You also may have seen her in the comedy film Couples Retreat alongside Vince Vaughn and Kristen Bell. She was married to musician Roberto Zincone from 2007 to 2013.

Anne Hathaway As Catwoman

So if you know anything about the Batman comics, chances are that you’ve heard of Catwoman.

Now, there have been countless versions of Catwoman adaptations on film, and while all of them are pretty good, Anne Hathaway does a stellar job in The Dark Knight Rises.

In the movie, she plays a sort of “cat and mouse” game with Batman, offering him help for the most part, and although he initially shrugs her off, he ends up teaming up with her as they fight for justice in Gotham.

Anne Hathaway In Real Life

Chances are you know Anne Hathaway from many other roles beyond The Dark Knight Rises. If you were a Disney channel enthusiast in the early 2000s, you may have seen her in The Princess Diaries. Fashionistas know her from The Devil Wears Prada, fantasy lovers from Alice in Wonderland, musical buffs from Les Misérables – and we could go on.

In the love department, Hathaway has been married to fellow actor Adam Shulman since 2012.

Carla Gugino As Sally Jupiter (Silk Spectre I)

It wouldn’t be right to discuss Laurie Jupiter without talking about her mother, and mentor, Sally Jupiter, played by the sultry Carla Gugino.

She emigrated from Europe to America and that is where she became a fighter of crime, finding out that it could actually help out her efforts to become a model and actress.

She eventually went under the pseudonym Silk Spectre and would pass on her crime-fighting legacy to her daughter, Laurie Jupiter.

Carla Gugino In Real Life

depositphotos / Adam Gold

The actress for Sally has been in the acting industry for quite a long time, and she is known by most.

Gugino is well known by a younger generation of millenials who saw her appear as the mother of Carmen and Juni Cortez in the children action film series, Spy Kids.

She also appeared in the movie Sin City, a graphic comic book film about crime fighters and heroes, which further cemented her legacy as a staple in that genre.

Katie Holmes As Rachel Dawes

And now we have Rachel Dawes from the Batman universe. Again, when it comes to many DC films, there are many film versions of certain characters, but our favorite version of Rachel Dawes is without a doubt Katie Holmes.

She is just a really cool character, no doubt about it – she always seems to stick by Bruce, no matter how annoying he’s being. And not to mention the fact that she has a very acute sense when something seems to be going wrong.

Katie Holmes In Real Life

Katie Holmes is probably still most known for her role as smart and sarcastic Joey Potter on Dawson’s Creek.

She also appeared more recently in the film adaptation of the hit novel, The Giver, and in the Netflix series Ray Donovan. Regarding her love life, she was married for six years to Tom Cruise, and the two share a daughter, Suri.

Following her divorce, Holmes is believed to have been in a relationship with actor and comedian Jamie Foxx for several years.

Uma Thurman As Poison Ivy

Uma Thurman portrays the Batman villain Dr. Pam Isley, also known as Poison Ivy.

Originally, she was a brilliant yet timid scientist and botanist who had a strong love for plants, and a distaste for the way they were inhumanely treated.

She’s shocked to discover her boss, Dr. Woodrue, experimenting with plant venom on a human to create the character known as Bane.

Woodrue then tries to kill her after she threatens to expose him by throwing her into a pit of toxic plants, unknowingly turning her into a vicious half-plant, half-human.

Uma Thurman In Real Life

Out of all of the actresses on this list, one of the most well known is Uma Thurman. She is simply one of those iconic actresses.

It also helps your career when you appear in movies by one of the most iconic directors of all time – Quentin Tarantino. Out of his movies, she has appeared in Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill series, both films that deal crime, mob bosses, and a lot of gore.

Her partner is hotel manager André Balazs, and they’ve been together since 2015.

Willa Holland As Thea Queen

Thea Queen is a character in the DC comic based show Arrow. Her code name is Speedy, which she identifies with after learning how to be a crime-fighting beast.

Her father, Malcolm Merlyn is the one who teaches her how to fight, and once she knows how, she becomes a bonafide member of “Team Arrow”, joining Green Arrow and the gang as they fight for justice.

Eventually, she decides to leave the team so that she can discover herself.

Willa Holland In Real Life

If you want to know what Willa Holland is best known for, it really depends on who you ask.

If you’re a DC comic person, who’s well versed in anything Arrow-verse related, then she’s best known to you as Speedy.

But if you were a big fan of the hit Fox drama series The OC that rose to prominence in the early 2000s, then you probably recognize Miss Holland as none other than Kaitlin Cooper.

She also appeared on the CW hit drama series, Gossip Girl.

Danielle Panabaker As Killer Frost

In the hit superhero series The Flash, there are many characters with superpowers, and one of them is Killer Frost, whose real name is Dr. Caitlin Snow.

Played by Danielle Panabaker, Frost is constantly wrestling with her powers throughout the series, and at first, she is unable to control them.

As time goes on, she starts to learn how to wield her abilities better, but it is still a learning process for her.

Danielle Panabaker In Real Life

Danielle Panabaker, like many of the young actresses on this list, is an actress that there is a good chance you may have seen in the past.

Alongside her sister Kay Panabaker, she was one of those classic Disney child actresses that appeared in many of their original films, such as Stuck in the Suburbs, Read It And Weep, and Sky High.

She was married to Hayes Robbins in 2017, and we wish the newlyweds much success for the future!

Katie Cassidy As Black Siren

Played by Katie Cassidy, Black Siren is the nickname for Dinah Lance, who is a huge villain in the DC comic based series The Flash. At the end of the day, just as important as the superheroes in the DC comics, are the supervillains.

They say that the better the villain, the better the film (for instance, The Joker, played by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight). Based on this fact, it’s important to acknowledge Cassidy’s value on the show as Black Siren.

Katie Cassidy In Real Life

Other than her villainized role on The Flash, Katie Cassidy has been able to spread her wings elsewhere on film, such as her role as the scheming Juliet Sharp on the hit CW drama series, Gossip Girl.

Actually, if you think about it, Gossip Girl is pretty much a show full of villains looking to manipulate each other socially, so it’s really not that different from her role as Black Siren.

Regarding her love life, she was engaged to a young man named Matthew Rogers in 2016.

Michelle Pfeiffer As Catwoman

There have been many different versions of Catwoman, but perhaps the most iconic was that of a latex-clad Michelle Pfeiffer.

In Pfeiffer’s version, Selina Kyle starts off as a corporate secretary. When she discovers that her boss was planning to suck power out of Gotham City, he attempts to kill her by pushing her out of a window.

She is tended to by alley cats, which causes her to turn into Catwoman, and ultimately team up with the Penguin while falling in love with Batman himself.

Michelle Pfeiffer In Real Life

In real life, Pfeiffer is a celebrated actress, and the amount of classic movies she’s appeared in is off the charts.

One of her earlier films is the hit action ’80s film Scarface, where she plays Elvira Hancock, the wife of drug lord Tony Montana.

Michelle also appeared in the John F. Smith drama film Dangerous Minds in 1995, a movie where she was nominated Most Desirable Female at the MTV Movie Awards.

She has been married to television writer David E. Kelley since 1993.

Maggie Gyllenhaal As Rachel Dawes

If you watched the Christian Bale version of the Batman series, you’ll that he has two different versions of Rachel Dawes.

In The Dark Knight, Dawes is played by Maggie Gyllenhaal, and she does a pretty awesome job.

While Gyllenhaal’s Rachel may be dating Gotham D.A. Harvey Dent, she’s still very in love with Bruce Wayne, a conflict Gyllenhaal manages to aptly portray on-screen.

Without spoiling the ending, we’ll say her ultimate decision is one revealed not to Wayne, but to the viewers, adding an extra layer of dramatic suspense.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Real Life

Maggie Gyllenhaal is one of those actresses who comes from a family of them, what with her parents being filmmakers (Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs), and her brother being the famous actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

But don’t let her family overshadow the accolades she has garnered for herself as well – for instance, in the 2002 movie Secretary, she was a Golden Globe nominee for her portrayal of Lee Holloway.

She is married to actor Peter Sarsgaard, and they have two children together.

Juliana Harkavy As Dinah Drake/The Black Canary

In the Netflix series Arrow, Juliana Harkavy plays the role of Lieutenant Dinah Drake, a police detective who gets recruited to Team Arrow by none other than Oliver Queen, and she helps them out with her superhuman abilities.

Speaking of these abilities, she has the capability to scream at abnormally loud volumes, which makes it quite unbearable for anyone in her vicinity to function properly, and this is why her name is the Black Canary.

Juliana Harkavy In Real Life

Juliana is a special lady in the DC universe, but she is quite well known in other areas, such as her portrayal of Rebecca in the family drama film Dolphin Tale.

But perhaps more notable is her role of Alisha the hit drama TV series The Walking Dead.

Caity Lotz As Sara Lance

In the world of DC comics, the beauty is that no character is too simple. No one is devoid of basic internal conflict, and not everyone is so easily understood.

Take Sara Lance, for example – played by Caity Lotz, she is originally a member of the League of Assassins, a vigilante group, and then later in her life she becomes a member of Team Arrow – a group that is more on the route for justice.

During her time on Team Arrow, she strikes up a romantic relationship with Oliver Queen.

In addition to her role of Iris West, Patton also has a consistent role on the BET TV series The Game, where she portrays the character of Tori. But Candice has history working in other TV genres, such as soap operas like The Bold and the Beautiful.

Her impact in all of her roles was strong enough to rank number five on BuddyTV’s list of 100 most wanted Women of 2014. Perhaps that’s why the Flash married her.

Nicole Kidman As Dr. Chase Meridian

When Nicole Kidman portrays the role of Dr. Chase Meridian in Batman Forever, she is actually Batman’s love interest.

Halle Berry As Catwoman

We didn’t think we were going to do it, but we simply had to – we tried to avoid putting a third Catwoman on this list, but here’s the thing – every Catwoman is so different.

Depending on the actress that plays her, combined with the storyline and production quality of the movie, the cat women in our lives are ever-changing.

In this case, she is played by Halle Berry, and unique to only her, her appearance was actually in a spinoff Catwoman film, instead of a Batman movie.

But Halle Berry is a household name actress for her appearance in many classic films, such as the 2001 drama film Monsters Ball. Halle has two beautiful children named Nahla and Maceo.

Alicia Silverstone As Batgirl

You all remember Alfred, right? Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s butler, friend, and all around wisdom giver.

Well, Batgirl is Barbara Wilson, Alfred’s niece – and how fitting it is, considering Batgirl, played by Alicia Silverstone, is Batman’s sidekick other than Robin, and it sounds like this crew seems to be keeping it all in the family.

Batgirl helps restore justice to Gotham in many ways, ultimately defeating Poison Ivy herself, and helping Batman kill Mr. Freeze as well.

Alicia Silverstone In Real Life

Alicia Silverstone is just one of those names that even if you don’t really know who she is, you still get the feeling like you’ve seen her somewhere.

Marion Cotillard In Real Life

Okay, what we’ve got here is a fiercely talented young lady who has appeared in many films, with many of her roles ending up being very similar.

Marion Cotillard apparently loves to portray characters that have something deeply sinister about them.

Alright friends, we’ve arrived. Played by Margot Robbie, Harley Quinn was originally named Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, is one of the wackiest villains of them all.

Said to be the only person who managed to be intimate romantically with The Joker on a long term basis, that should give you enough of a hint regarding her mentality.

Like the Joker, she is one of Batman’s most prominent villains, she’s scary, and she doesn’t mess around.

Margot Robbie In Real Life

Having Margot Robbie to play Harley Quinn is a match made in heaven (or maybe hell), Mainly due to Robbie’s physical similarities to Quinn and no less so, her mesmerizing on-camera presence.

She was married in December of 2016 to film director Tom Ackerley, at a private ceremony in Byron Bay.

Emily Bett Rickards As Felicity Smoak

In every team of superfriends, you need many different roles that make the teamwork.

One of these necessary roles is that of someone who is technologically gifted and can be some sort of an in-house agent to help out the superhero when they are out fighting crime.

This is more or less the role of Felicity Smoak – she befriends Arrow and actually dates him for a while, but their relationship is professional for the most part in the sense that she helps him recruit his team.
