According to a spokesperson for the royal couple, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are changing their Christmas plans. Over the past 2 years, they have spent their holidays with the royal family in their countryside Sandringham estate.
This year, Meghan, Harry, and their baby Archie will spend time with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland. The royal couple will break away from their public duties to spend time with the Duchess' mother instead. It's not clear, at this time, if they will be coming to the United States or if her mother will visit them in Britain.
Actually, their decision is totally in line with the precedent set before by other members of the royal family and they have all received great support from Her Majesty the Queen. They have all at one time or another, chosen to spend the holidays elsewhere.
Victoria Murphy said on Twitter, that Prince William and Kate Middleton have also spent holidays with the Middletons in Bucklebury instead of Sandringham.
Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have been known to leave Sandringham in the middle of the afternoon on Christmas to visit Camilla's children and their families.
With everything going on these days, it's no surprise that Harry and Meghan are struggling with pressures of being in the spotlight and the scrutiny from the British press. A break seems to be in order. At this time, it's uncertain if they will visit Meghan's mother in the US or if Doria will be joining them in the UK.
As the British press is incapable of leaving the royal couple alone, I am sure we will hear soon enough if they will be visiting the United States or if Doria will be visiting them in Britain.
