The Famous Parents of Famous Celebrities

We all have a favorite celebrity we try and follow. Some of us become a mega fan or a groupie and follow the star wherever they go. If you’re not that into celebrity life and fame, then these family ties could surprise you, as you might like two actors and now find out they are actually father and son (or mother and son. Wait, or mother and daughter or father and… you know what I mean).

Let’s start with a mixed couple (by mixed I mean actor and singer).

Famous Parent: Alan Thicke

Known For: His role in Growing Pains

This Canadian actor was also a songwriter and talk show host and was best known for his role as Jason Seaver, the father on the ABC television series Growing Pains. Unfortunately, Thicke collapsed on December 13, 2016, while playing hockey and died of a heart disease shortly after.

Famous Son: Robin Thicke

Known For: His Hit Blurred Lines

We all know Robin to be a sexy soul artist, and more recently known for the controversy regarding his song, Blurred Lines. After the sudden death of his dad Alan, Robin said that his father was the greatest man he ever met and that he was always a gentleman. Robin managed to see his father just a couple of days before he passed away, so he used that opportunity to tell him how much he loves and respects him.

Famous Father: Arnold Schwarzenegger

Known For: The Terminator and being Governor of California

It’s hard to summarise the achievements of a man who is an actor, producer, businessman, investor, former professional bodybuilder, and former governor… so its safest just to say that this guy has pretty much done it all while also maintaining good relationships with all his children.

Famous Son: Patrick Schwarzenegger

Known For: Grown Ups 2 and Stuck in Love

Like father like son, Patrick has also taken on a handful of challenges, such as juggling being a model, actor, and founding his own company, a clothing line, at only 15!!! Believe it or not, he has more claims to fame than just his father being Arnold Schwarzenegger, he is also the great-nephew of none other than John F. Kennedy!

Hold your kids, there’s More…

10 strange secrets about The Big Bang Theory

Big Bang Theory (BBT) is one of the most popular shows on CBS. BBT grabbed the attention of many viewers when it aired in 2007. With the exceptional writing of Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, amazing performances by actors Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kelley Cuoco along with perfect comic timing, this show is widely watched and loved all over the world.

Every character in this show has a unique ability and they are appreciated in their own way. This show is not only about science and intelligence but it is all about friendship, relationships and love. Everything about this show is amazing and no matter how many times you watch it, you will love it even more.

However, there are some strange facts about this show that the fans would be fascinated to know. Here are the top 10 strange secrets of The Big Bang Theory:

1. Lenny Penny Kenny.
As we all are aware that the name ‘The Big Bang Theory’ is symbolically given to this show with the purpose of not only science but also the fact of something new is being created. Magical as that sounds, this wasn’t the first name chosen by the writers. At first, the show was to be called ‘Lenny Penny Kenny’, featuring three main characters and so of course, the name’s Sheldon and Lennard would never have been introduced and neither would have all the other characters.

2. Mayim Bialik.
In this exceptional show where the writers and directors have tried to make everything look authentic, there is one authentic detail that most fans don’t know. Actress Mayim Bialik is the only actress in the show who is actually a scientist. She is a neuroscientist and got her doctorate degree in 2008. It is so great to have an actual doctor on set!

3. Hidden Injuries.
Another interesting thing about the show is that many of the actors have had many serious injuries but the directors have very smartly handled them. During season 4, Kelley Cuoco broke her leg while horseback riding so the directors made her do all the scenes behind the counter so that fans wouldn’t be disappointed and the shooting wouldn’t stop. Another actor, Mayim Bialik who plays the role of Amy, broke her arm in a car accident but had to hide it throughout the entire season 6.

4. Sheldon and Star Trek.
Now, as a Big Bang theory fan, we all know how crazy Sheldon is about Star Trek and that he has shared multiple references related to the Brand. However, the actor who plays Sheldon, Jim Parsons, has admitted having never watched Star Trek in his entire life. Also, he has never watched any of the other fictional shows that Sheldon loves including Doctor Who.

5. The Theorists.
We all know how unique The Big Bang Theory is. Who would have thought of a comic show about a group of science nerds and their friendship with a completely opposite girl who has the dream of becoming an actress? Seeing how amazing and different this show was, some people actually did try to copy the idea. In 2010, a show was aired with the name of ‘The Theorists’ in Belarus. When the actors of that show discovered that the producers have stolen the idea, they left.

6. Bazinga.
Sheldon’s all-time favorite phrase ‘Bazinga’ became so popular that some scientists actually used it in one of their discoveries. In 2013, a new species of orchid bee was discovered by Brazilian scientists and they decided to name it Euglossa Bazinga after the catchphrase bazinga. How cool is that? The producers thought that Sheldon would be very thrilled to know that an actual scientific discovery was named after his famous catchphrase.

7. Musical abilities.
Some of the people in the show have a remarkable ability to play musical instruments. In one episode, Sheldon plays the Theremin and the actor, Jim Parsons, played it all by himself regardless of the fact that the Theremin is one of the most difficult instruments to play. Other than that, Mayim Bialik actually learned how to play the harp for one of the episodes where Amy has to play it. Also, Johnny Galecki plays an amazing piano, it is not yet shown on the show but we’re still hoping.

8. Penny’s last name.
Isn’t it interesting that sometimes we skip the slightest details of the show we love? Have you ever noticed that the character of Penny has always been a sort of mystery for the fans? Her last name is literally never mentioned in the show and the producers like to keep it that way. Other than that, Penny’s mother was also never mentioned on the show. Kind of a mystery don’t you think? Despite all that, Penny made a way to everyone’s heart and is one of the most adored characters of the show.

9. Lennard’s glasses.
Lennard’s character has always been wonderful, charming and awkward but what lights up his character is his pair of glasses. It may sound stereotypical for a nerd to wear glasses, but with Lennard, it just fits. However, the actor, Johnny Galecki, doesn’t wear glasses. So throughout the show, he has been wearing glasses without any lens in them and the fans never figured it out and quite honestly, Lennard would have looked a little alternative without the glasses.

10. Blind casting.
We all know and agree with the fact that Jim Parsons is one of finest actors on The Big Bang Theory and he is just the perfect guy to play Sheldon. However, when Jim was called upon to audition, he did not know who Chuck Lorre was, he thought he was auditioning for the game show host Chuck Woolery. Nevertheless, Jim Parsons gave an amazing audition and became the best Sheldon anyone could have ever been.

We all know Johnny Depp. The Pirate, the lover, the eccentric, Depp has managed to embody just about every different kind of character in his acting career, and it’s no wonder he is considered one of the greatest actors in our generation.

But all that started way back in the 80’s, when Depp rose to prominence in the TV series ‘21 Jump Street’ in which he became in instant teen idol and heartthrob for girls around the world. However, the experience for Depp was not altogether positive as he felt it pushed him to a certain role of product.

It was from this experience that he decided to only pick roles that he felt challenged him- and judging by the roles he has played since, he stood by his word!

Rob Lowe

Lowe’s career highlights all stemmed from the 80’s. he became a teen idol, starring in films such as ‘The Outsiders’, ‘St. Elmo’s Fire; and About Last Night’.

Since then, one could say his acting career dwindled, with him finding more success in TV roles. His years after were also marred by scandals, including a sex scandal involving him being filmed engaging in sexual activities with a 16-year-old. As of recent years, he has appeared in series such as Code Black, and ‘The Lowe Files’.

Kevin Bacon

Bacon had his first commercially successful role when he starred in the box-office smash ‘Footloose’, which both made him an instant heartthrob, and earned him a wide range of critiques approval.

However, like Johnny Depp, he felt his success in his earlier works led to typecasting and he had difficulty shaking of the image he had garnered in Footloose. As of late, he has appeared in FOX series ‘The Following’.

Tiffany Brissette as V.I.C.I. in Small Wonder

It is difficult to forget the little girl robot V.I.C.I. in the TV sitcom Small Wonder. The show ran for four years and starred Tiffany Brissette as the adorable robot girl. When the show ended, she went on to act in the series Parker Lewis Can’t Lose. She also did voice work for a two-dimensional computer video called “Why Christmas Trees Aren’t Perfect”.

Her last TV work was in 1991 in the series Equal Justice. Tiffany currently works as a registered nurse in Boulder, Colorado.

Matt Dillon

Dillon established himself as a teen idol with the series of films he starred in in the 80’s including My Bodyguard (1980), Little Darlings (1980), Tex (1982), Rumble Fish (1983) The Outsiders (1983) and The Flamingo Kid (1984). But unlike many other stars who got stuck in their younger acting stereotype roles, Dillon managed to keep his career going for years to come.

Only in 2015 he starred in the series Wayward Pines, where he portrays an American Secret Service Agent.

Ralph Macchio

Aka, Daniel LaRusso, in the famous Karate Kid series. Every now and then we get to see Macchio in TV series or in a movie or two, but wherever he is, Karate Kid will follow. He can’t shake off the image of that ‘wax on – wax off’ kid with the Crane Move that brought him the winner title in the karate games.

He lives in California, married and has two children. At the 30th anniversary party for the Karate Kid film at the museum of the Japanese American in 2014, Macchio said that the yellow 1947 Ford convertible he drove in the movie is sitting in the garage of his home!

Macchio will go back to play Daniel Larusso once again in a 30-minute, 10-part Karate Kid series for a YouTube channel called Cobra Kai (Mister Miyagi’s nemesis in the movie) in 2018.

Neil Patrick Harris

This incredibly talented, and incredibly funny actor began his road to fame as a child star when he was cast in a drama film ‘ Clara’s Heart’ starring Whoopi Goldberg. His portrayal of David, who comes to trust and depend on Whoopi’s character, earned him major approval from film critiques and set him on his acting path.

We all know Harris’s acting success went from strength to strength, with his most known role as the legendary Barney Stinson, a serial womanizer who has almost a cult-like following due to his crazy antics.

Troop Beverly Hills’ Jenny Lewis

Jenny Lewis was nine years old when she was luckily cast with the legendary Lucille Ball in the sitcom “Life with Lucy” back in 1985. But her big break came in 1989 when she played the role of Hannah in the series “Troop Beverly Hills”. Lewis later had a romantic relationship with David Faustino and Jake Gyllenhall.

She changed careers and pursued music by being a lead singer of the indie group Rilo Kiley with her then-beau Blake Sennett. Currently, she is still singing but with new boyfriend Jonathan Rice in a duo called Jenny and Johnny.

Joey Lawrence played two Joeys in NBC’s Gimme a Break! And Blossom”

Joey Lawrence got his first starring role as the adorable Joey Donovan on ‘Gimme a Break!’ He clearly has a thing for Joeys since after that gig he played another Joey on ‘Blossom’, in which he even had his very own catchphrase- “whoa!”.

This year has been quite an exciting one for this child star from the 80’s. he has always said his first love and major passion is music, and just this year Joey started a band called ‘Still 3’. They recently released their debut single ‘lose myself’- check it out and see what you think!

Winona Ryder

Although her acting career really hit off in the 1990’s, with her becoming one of the most iconic actresses of that decade, Ryder already burst on the scene as the gothic teenager in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice, where she first showed off her incredible talent that would only continue from there.

Ryder has played many eccentric, brilliant characters throughout her career since then, but her personal life has been nearly as followed as her professional life. She has always been open with her struggles with depression and anxiety. Her most recent role has been in the incredibly popular Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’, for which she has garnered both Golden Globe and SAG nominations.

Where have these 1980’s child actors been? You adored them back then, are they still adorable now? Stop asking and start discovering what these actors and actresses are doing now. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised or a bit sad. Some managed to go beyond...

The Outrageous Things Celebrities Spend Their Money On

The lifestyles of the rich and famous mean that they can make way more extreme purchases than us normal people. However, sometimes celebrities spend outrageous amounts on all kinds of things. From private islands to costly wine, you won’t believe what celebrities spend their money on!

After you see these purchases, maybe you won’t feel so badly about your own “frivolous spending,” because, after all, you didn’t buy a solid gold bathtub or a pricy humidifier! Read on to find out exactly who bought what and why.

Let’s begin…

Johnny Depp: $30,000 in Wine

When Johnny Depp sued his former business managers for financial mismanagement, they countersued. That’s when the money dirt came out. In the suit, they alleged that Depp’s inability to keep his spending under control caused his money troubles. Details in the lawsuit revealed that Depp spends $2 million a month, including a jaw-dropping amount on wine.

Documents show that the actor spends $30,000 a month on fine wine and that Depp even flies the wine from France to his movie sets! Even more amazing? He spent $3 million to shoot the ashes of Hunter S. Thompson out of a cannon. Why? We have no idea. But it apparently was worth spending millions to do.

The lifestyles of the rich and famous mean that they can make way more extreme purchases than us normal people. However, sometimes celebrities spend outrageous amounts on all kinds of things. From private islands to costly wine, you won’t believe what...

DiCaprio’s new fling- The Actors continues his modelizer ways

I am a huge Sex and the City fan. Despite that the show has been over for quite some time, I still find nothing more satisfying than binging on these juicy episodes after a long day. And although the plot is sometimes far-fetched, every now and then something happens in real life which bears a striking similarity to the lives of Carrie and her crew. Today has got me thinking of season one, episode two, ‘models and mortals’. In this episode, the girls lament the crazy trend of guys out there who will ONLY date models, and while that sounds kind of shallow and ridiculous, it seems we have our own modelizer in the flesh: Leonardo DiCaprio.

Only Models

Yup, this ridiculously talented actor is also ridiculously talented at keeping his dating track record ‘model only’ or as close to model as possible. Just last week DiCaprio was seen riding around New York with his most recent speculated fling Lorena Rae, a young German model. They were seen riding peacefully along the New York roads, and while paparazzi and armed security followed ensuite, it does seem as close to a ‘normal date’ as you get when it comes to Leo.

But normal is a hard word to use when describing the actors dating history. DiCaprio is known for his specific dating tastes, being that she must either be, or be fitting to be a Victoria Secret Angel. In fact, he has dated a total of ten Victoria Secret models in his time. DiCaprio, now 41, is also known for dating women far younger than him, usually in their 20’s. While some claim his dating, habits are every man’s dream, others claim it simply points out an extensive list of failed relationships and loneliness.

Chronicles of predetermined failures?

However it could also be that his relationships with his string of beauties is mutually beneficial: they get to be seen with a famous actor, and he gets to be seen with a beautiful woman on his arm. But is there something deeper going on? Amongst those of a sadder opinion is relationship guru Dr. Gilda Crale who coined DiCaprio a “modelizer”, which is someone who pursues fantasy women knowing it will probably not work out.

Some of the women on the list of Leo’s conquests are Victoria Secret models Gisele Bündchen, Israeli beauty Bar Refaeli, American model Kelly Rohrbach and some beautiful actresses like Blake Lively. However, all these women, regardless of the fact that the relationships came to an end had only warm things to say about DiCaprio. Such as Bündchen who claimed, “We were just not meant to be boyfriend and girlfriend, but I respect him enormously and I wish him nothing but the best.”

While Carrie Bradshaw would insist DiCaprio’s ways are the route problem of all the normal looking girls in the world, you’ve got to admit that The actor, with millions and millions in his bank account, and movies like Titanic, The Aviator and The Great Gatsby in his pocket, certainly does make a great catch. That is assuming he ever decides on being caught for good.

I am a huge Sex and the City fan. Despite that the show has been over for quite some time, I still find nothing more satisfying than binging on these juicy episodes after a long day. And although the plot is sometimes far-fetched, every now and then something...

If She Were Alive Today. England Celebrates Lady D’s Birthday With Commemoration and Re-Dedication

Had it not been for that fatal night on the 31st of August 1997, Princess Diana may very have been with us today. The princess of the people, whom many people around the world, even today, 20 years after her death, remember more as a saint than a person. Her tragic death cut her life short at the age of 36.

A Day of Mourning

Today, people from all over England paid tribute to the late princess by covering Kensington Palace’s gates with flags, pictures of her life and memory cards. The princess’s sons, Prince William and Prince Harry and the Spencer family didn’t forget her either. The two, accompanied by Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte and Lady Diana’s brother, the Earl Spencer gathered in a private ceremony Althorp House, where Diana is buried to rededicate her grave. The Oval Lake at the estate was recently redesigned – the first redesign in the estate in over 350 years.

Prince Harry, now aged 32 was 12 when his mother passed. As he matured, his later teens and early twenties were riddled with scandals, whom many have blamed on his mother’s death. In an interview that he gave to Newsweek the prince stated that walking behind his mother’s coffin on live-TV, was an ordeal left a negative imprint on his personality and behavior for almost 2 decades. His brother Prince William said in a different interview that the funeral was the hardest things he had ever endured. Both princes agree that today children would not have been subjected to such an ordeal.

No More!

The two princes and the British royal family (together with the English public and media outlets) have shown their disgust to paparazzi practices that they feel brought about the death of the princess. Witnessing firsthand the toll these practices had on their mother and subsequently on them, Prince William has been very protective of Kate, and the media has respected his requests.

In 2012 a French paparazzi photographer caught a frame of Kate topless and the English public were outraged and demanded the photographer be extradited to the UK and stand trial. None of the English tabloids would publish them and photographers Cyril Moreau and Dominique Jacovides couldn’t sell them. Eventually Closer magazine and a small regional paper did publish them. The owner and executive editor of Closer were tried in France, along with the former publisher of the French regional newspaper that also ran the photos and the photographers who took them. The verdict is scheduled to be given on 04 July 2017.

Still Loved

Lady D’s presence in her son’s life and the English public hasn’t ended there. Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with his mother’s engagement ring, and the radiant Duchess of Cambridge has been compared in fashion style, public appearance an charity work to the Late Princes. Additionally, William and Harry are much more popular than their father, Prince Charles, the first heir to the English Throne, and have taken much of their mother’s character and avid charity work. Persistent rumors continuously circle the queen that she plans on handing the throne over to Prince William rather than her son due to his conduct with Lady Diana those these have never been verified.

If the American public can still pinpoint where they were when JFK was murdered, the English public bear the death of Princes Diana as a national trauma.

Had it not been for that fatal night on the 31st of August 1997, Princess Diana may very have been with us today. The princess of the people, whom many people around the world, even today, 20 years after her death, remember more as a saint than a person. Her...
