‘1 Alcoholic Bev’ – The Meme That Will Break the Internet

Do you remember when Kim Kardashian starred on the front cover of that magazine, promising to ‘break the internet’?

Well, it turns out that we might have something on our hands so irritatingly viral that it might break the whole thing. It’s the ‘1 Alcoholic Bev’ meme, and it’s gone so far, so wide and so fast it’s very unlikely you haven’t seen it yet. Anyway, if you are somehow free of its clutches, then you’ll want to know what it is – right?

Essentially… see the mate in your group who cannot handle their alcohol? That after a single pint/bottle/can/whatever, they are absolutely mashed?

Well, the 1 Alcoholic Bev meme was made in celebration of their wonderful ability to get lashed for so little. It’s also a celebration of the fact that these people become extremely loose with their words afterward, often to comical effect.

This meme has exploded, celebrating every one of the times we’ve all had a heart to heart with a complete stranger, or nearly had a fight with a random person over a football opinion. Sometimes, all it takes is one drink to turn you into a complete clown – and the 1 Alcoholic Bev meme is here to celebrate that ridiculous transformation we all take.

There’s a rather comical tweet series we came across that perfectly surmises the 1 Alcoholic Bev meme for those who have somehow managed to miss it.

How the 1 Alcoholic Bev usually works

So, these are all fine examples of a good night out. You are out and about with the sensible clothes on and the complete intention of having a simple night. No messing around. One drink in, though, you are on the table – the inhibitions are gone. You are dancing on the table, and the mild mannered couple across from you are looking partially intrigued, partially horrified.

Stumbling out the door afterward, it’s straight for a fantastic bite to eat – the smell just wafts right up your nose. You would eat out of a bin if someone told you it was the reason for the aroma you now want to marry. All it takes is that one drink to turn that donor kebab you nearly threw up thinking about earlier into the stuff of dreams.

As you trapeze on home, you think of sitting in bed. Cold. Alone. You tell yourself you won’t do it, but you send the text anyway – to him/her. You do it because you know you must, even though you know both of you will despise the approach tomorrow. But you do it anyway, as all it takes is one drink to convince you that – actually – you can make things work.

So, what has the worst been for you after a single alcoholic beverage? Try and avoid counting the times when you would start your drinking with something of supreme power, like Absinthe. Try and think of when all it took was a Becks, a simple Becks, to make you transform into the ‘real you’ that you hide in sobriety?

Photoshop Help Goes Hilariously Downhill

Everyone loves a good selfie, and now we have mobile phones so we can take photos all the time – ourselves, our pets, and our day to day lives.  The only trouble is that sometimes the pictures don’t turn out just as we want them.

It may be that there is something we don’t want in the background, we might not be looking our very best or we might want to add something in to make the image a little more exciting.

And that is why Photoshop was invented!  A little time on Photoshop and you can make your pictures magical.  It might not be exactly what was happening at the time, by nevertheless the image will be amazing.

Photoshop takes a lot of skill to use it properly, but once you have mastered it you can remove people, change their look, add people in, or add scenery and items.

Be Careful What You Wish For?

Because we all want a perfect picture lots of people have set themselves up online to provide a Photoshop service.  They are experts in the program and can  help people fix all sorts of terrible photos.  One of these experts is a guy called James Fridman.  But he offers a service with a difference.

Watch: Cheerleader Becomes Internet Sensation

A few minutes into watching the video my jaw dropped and then a smile formed on my lips. It felt great to see such an energetic and enthusiastic cheerleader put in his best creative efforts to stand out. I was right; it isn’t the way cheerleading is done normally, the young man couldn’t resist showing off his special moves. The video footage has since gone viral; you can spend minutes scrolling through the comments which are also hilarious.

It happened in Texas, and the amazing young man is named LaDarius Marshall. He is one of the cheerleaders at the Navarro College in Texas.

His role in the cheerleading team was supposed to be merely standing and clapping his hands in rhythm. However, that apparently seemed too boring for him. LaDarius goes on to show off some moves that have caught the attention of the internet. He claps, twists his torso and neck at what can be described as unnatural angles, but he seems perfectly comfortable.

At some point, LaDarius effortlessly lifts the female cheerleader onto his shoulders performs the routine and continues his dramatic performance which is what everyone is watching.

All through the routine and his additional dramatics, LaDarius is seen smiling and making facial expressions. He is obviously far away, in an imaginary world, on a stage, in front of a huge crowd, performing while the crowd chants his name…he is a star.

Whatever his intentions were, LaDarius succeeded. The video clip has been viewed over twelve million times. It has also been featured in the local news, and on many videos streaming websites. The online traffic LaDarius has caused online has surely made many bloggers very happy today.

When asked about his spectacular performance, LaDarius states that his goal is to cheer people. He got a cheerleading scholarship to the Navarro Junior College in 2017. Obviously, the people who awarded him this scholarship will be very happy with their decision after seeing this video.

When asked how he gets inspired to perform the way he does, LaDarius mentions his sister and aunt as the people who encouraged him to be a cheerleader. He learned how to tumble from his elder sister and since then cheerleading has become his passion. LaDarius opens up about his cheerleading practice. It takes many trials to get the moves right, and it is important to be in sync with the cheerleading theme.

Cheerleading adds more excitement to during the games. The young performers come on the field to show off their tumbling skills and other stunts for a few minutes before and during the games such as basketball or football. The specially choreographed moves are made by cheerleaders who show high levels of endurance, strength, flexibility, and coordination. Asides from knowing how to dance, cheerleaders are also expected to be confident, team players with high levels of commitment, patient, and have a positive attitude at all times.

LaDarius obviously matches the description of a true cheerleader. What’s more, he also coaches little cheerleaders. LaDarius says it is one of the best opportunities he has ever had, to teach the young ones his skills and encourage them to become even better cheerleaders in future.

Crazy: China Has An Internet Court

Should we be surprised? Well, considering the fact that there are millions of active internet users in China, there are bound to be so many disputes. The high demand for internet access can put a strain on the Telecommunication companies who may not provide the needed services. Or other cases of breached agreement during online shopping, and different types of internet services that need to be settled legally. What we know is these cases related to internet usage are heard in a special court.

In this court, citizens can find lasting and finding solutions to their grievances. The cases related to the internet are also between citizens. A contractual agreement, copyright infringement, investments or the wrong use of the internet which causes another person to experience financial loss or emotional distress are settled in the court.

To address these issues, there are two main courts in China that handle all internet related issues.

The first internet court in China was opened last year. It is located in the Hangzhou region, which is the eastern part of China. The court has been saddled with the responsibilities of handling all disputes related to internet usage and sale. The second court named the Beijing Internet Court will support these efforts. It is expected that a third court will soon be opened in the Guangzhou region, Southern China.

It is apparent these cases are on the increase in China. This is why the authorities in the country recently found the need to establish the second internet court in China in addition to the first court. The new court – the “Beijing Internet Court” was opened in Beijing and the ceremony was officially witnessed by the notable Chinese government and legal staff. With this new addition, all cases related to contract breaches involving intellectual property and other related internet-related crimes can be adequately addressed. These two courts will operate according to the legal provisions in the Chinese constitution. The aspects of the law will be applied to the use and sale of the internet in China.

It is understandable that these two courts have been established to maintain order in the e-commerce industry and among the users. Quicker judgments and consumer protection will go a long way to encourage all the users of these services to adhere to the rules and regulations while offering or using the internet in China.

According to the statistics revealed by the Beijing Higher People’s Court, the number of internet-related cases handled by the court is increasing. The numbers have risen from the previous years at a steady rate. Last year, the courts in China handled as many as thirty-seven thousand cases related to internet crimes and disputes.

To improve its services, the internet court in Beijing will be open 24-hours daily. The staff will include thirty-eight experienced judges who are familiar with the internet rules and related constitution in China. The president of the internet court Zhang Wen has stated that every case is tried according to the legal proceedings without prejudice. Details of on-going trials can be accessed through the digital litigation platforms where the final decisions made by the judges can also be viewed.

The legal system in China which handles internet-related disputes is also used to check foreign investors who wish to establish their brands in the Chinese market.

Woman Loses Her NASA Internship For The Funniest Reason

Almost everyone is on social media especially the popular platforms. It is also easy to track tweets because of keywords and hashtags. But one unguarded moment caused this woman to lose her internship at NASA a position thousands dream about every day. In what seemed like a hilarious moment of jubilations she Tweeted that all she had been accepted as an intern at NASA but unlike every normal tweet, hers contained some strong obscene words.

Yes, it is true the ‘streets of Twitter’ is now overrun by people who do not hesitate to use foul language as often as they can but who would have thought her boss would see her Tweet. Unfortunately, that is what happened.

Homer Hickman is sort of a revered scholar at NASA; he is in charge of training the astronauts during spacewalks. With an impressive resume which includes participation during missions such as the Joint US Japanese mission Spacelab, the International Space Station, and the Hubble Space Telescope project, Homer has had his name printed all over the NASA project boards. However, she did not know such a person would see her tweet (or didn’t care).

Homer’s first reaction to her badly worded tweet was with one word, “language,” indicating that she could easily delete the tweet to cover up or apologize, but no, she was obviously not ready for some older male to caution her, the reply was even worse, and then it happened.

Homer revealed his identity, and you can guess what happened next. The conversation has since gone viral on Tweeter, such a twist to a story that started with jubilation.

We know one thing, lessons have been learned, but the internship at NASA may not be happening because the Tweet went viral with thousands of shares and likes. She is surely qualified, and another opportunity will happen with another company, this time she will know better than to use unprintable words on social media.

Meet Shudu – The First Instagram Avatar Model

Only a few years ago the biggest fashion houses in the world relied on scouting for models to find people with the perfect features to match their brand. This went on for a long time, and many supermodels were discovered. Now some years later it has become too hectic of a task to organize campaigns and castings to scout for models.

We have found out that the perfect model can be created in 3D. We are still in awe of the features of Shudu. She is the 3D creation of the London based photographer Cameron James Wilson. Shudu is an African model; she has already gathered over 130,000 followers on Instagram since she was introduced as the first digital model.

The creation of Shudu is not very surprising; we have seen new innovative apps that can be used to transform pictures into sketches and other fancy images. The filters have also been improved to make pictures on smartphones look extraordinary.

The widespread use of digital pictures creates a potential market for innovative people like Cameron. He can start getting offers to use Shudu on the cover of digital magazines rather than the companies going through the long process of finding real models for their covers.

Another popular digital model named Lil Miquela is already making the news in this area. She has already been featured on the cover of some magazines and has a growing social media following that will increase her popularity.

The advantage creators of digital models have is that designers and editors of magazines are interested in using new faces. Models that have never been used by other brands. It is almost impossible because successful models have earned their fame and money by working with many big brands.

Cameron has taken this business seriously; he sees a huge potential and a lot of future possibilities. Cameron recently launched his agency called The Digital which is going to be focused on creating and developing more digital models to meet the needs of the fashion and entertainment companies.

When asked how much it costs to create one 3D model avatar Cameron reveals that it costs thousands of dollars and many hours. There are a lot of details to consider such as the features of the model. The clients need perfection, and this is what his company aims to provide.

Digital models are easier to work with; all the editors need is a good computer and lots of time to do the editing. It will be relatively cheaper to work with avatars than real models that can make absurd demands and hold projects to ransom because of their personal needs. However, the digital model avatars will not put the real human models out of a job because of the runway.

The challenge for Cameron and other creators of the digital avatar is to make their creations look as real as possible. It is going to be quite distracting for viewers when they know the model they are looking at is not a real human with obvious graphics features. However, when they look indisputably real, the digital avatars will eventually be accepted globally.

Google Launches New Celebrity Video App

With the world being ever-more interested in celebrity lifestyles and living, it’s no surprise to see Google acting accordingly. As one of the most powerful tech firms on the planet, Google have a unique habit of getting there before everyone else: and with their new video app, that might just about to be a trend that continues along. Thanks to Cameos, the new app from Goole, celebrities are going to find it easier than ever to funnel their own search results.

Now, celebrities can record a full-screen video answer and upload it to answer key questions about themselves found online. With commonly asked questions to Google filtered to them, they can record a quick message to deliver a personal take on what they answer would be.

Eagle-eyed Reddit users will see that this is essentially a chance to turn the Ask Me Anything (AMA) system into a video format, but fair play to them. Celebrities can now record answers to questions about them easily, ensuring that they can fight back against backlashes of misinformation, rumour and other assorted garbage.

While critics say it’s merely going to give celebrities a chance to sugar-coat questions about themselves or their deeds, fans say it’s nice to give them this kind of platform. Celebrities are often lampooned in various ways, and to have a chance to fight back against the gossip will be quite useful.

Something New For Celebrities

Interestingly, this app is going to become pretty popular purely because it’s been in the works for some time. Whatever faults can be levelled at Google; they have a pretty strong record of making a success of things they trial out in the long-term.

With the aim of trying to make mobile searches in particular even more personal – and personable – as well as with a verified, heard-it-here-first approach to celebrity news, celebrities should be able to take care of their own lives a bit easier.

Being able to have minor control about the veracity of what is being said about them online must be very fun indeed. With the ability to out-rank the algorithmic planning of Google by giving people an answer from the celeb themselves, this is going to help make sure that popular questions and queries regarding their lives can be answered by the celebrities themselves.

While some might roll their eyes at yet another new celebrity-specific feature, it’s nice to see that those who we spend so much time talking about can finally give some kind of response.

People Are Getting Surgery To Look Like Snapchat Filters!

“Snapchat Dysmorphia” has now officially entered the medical lexicon. According to a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), an astonishing number of plastic surgery patient now list “selfies” as a primary motivation for going under the knife.

The paper states, “A new phenomenon, dubbed ‘Snapchat dysmorphia,’ has patients seeking out cosmetic surgery to look like filtered versions of themselves instead, with fuller lips, bigger eyes, or a thinner nose. This is an alarming trend because those filtered selfies often present an unattainable look and are blurring the line of reality and fantasy for these patients.”

Whether we like it or not, we live in an era of flawlessly edited selfies and ever-evolving standards of beauty. The popularity of image-based social media has put Photoshop and filters in everyone’s arsenal, unlike yonder years when only those in the spotlight had access to these tools. Now, it is not just celebrities propagating beauty standards: it is a classmate, a coworker, or a friend.

A few swipes on Snapchat can give decorate a selfie with a crown of flowers or puppy ears, lighten the skin, or add a sparkle to your eyes. A little adjusting on Facetune can smoothen out skin, and make teeth look whiter and eyes and lips bigger. A quick share on Instagram, and the likes and comments start rolling in. These filters and edits have become the norm, altering people’s perception of beauty worldwide.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), is a condition which involves “excessive preoccupation with a perceived flaw in appearance, classified on the obsessive-compulsive spectrum.” Snapchat dysphoria can be described as an offshoot of the same condition. “Those with a dysmorphic body image may seek out social media as a means of validating their attractiveness,” the study notes. With those with higher engagement on social media platforms more likely to have a higher level of body dissatisfaction, despite trying to “present a specific image of themselves or analyzing and commenting on other’s photos”.

Teens, who once focused on things like the size of their nose, for example, are now hypercritical of completely normal lines, blemishes, and imperfections masked by Snapchat filters. The American Medical Academy of Facial and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery says 55% of clinicians saw patients who “wanted to look better in their selfies” in 2017. This signifies a 13% increase from the previous year. The most common procedures from clients between 17 and 22 years old ask for are oversized eyes and lips, narrowed jawlines, refined nose, and flawless skin.

“It can be argued that these apps are making us lose touch with reality because we expect to look perfectly primped and filtered in real life as well,” according to the study. “Filtered selfies especially can have harmful effects on adolescents or those with BDD because these groups may more severely internalize this beauty standard.”

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons estimated that Americans spent $16 billion on cosmetic surgical fees in 2016.

Archaeologists Consider Opening A Gigantic Black Sarcophagus and Twitter Goes Berserk

You probably haven’t heard that earlier this month a giant black sarcophagus was discovered in Egypt by a group of archaeologists so here is a quick recap for you.

Out in Sidi Gaber district of Alexandria, a team of archaeologists was in the middle of a dig when they found a rather large, black granite sarcophagus. This is the longest sarcophagus that has been found in the area measuring  At 2.65 meters (8.7 feet).  It was unusual found indeed, also made more bizarre by the fact that it has remained entirely intact through all this time. The seal between the lid and the body of the sarcophagus has not been broken, meaning that whatever is in there has been there since the Ptolemaic period (323 BCE to 30 BCE).

Naturally curious some of the scientists want to open it to see what is laying inside. The internet, full of people who saw movies like the Mummy thinks this may not be the best idea in the world, some took to Twitter to express their feelings.

Most refrences were of course to the Mummy movies:

Another movie that was mentioned is Indiana Jones:

Some recalled this is just like the beginning of an entire genre of films:

Some accepted their fate:

While others were happy with the toughest huamnity will come to an end:

One already thought about the perfect solution:

In all fairness, the chances that something deadly will come out of the sarcophagus is very low, but just in case does anyone have The Rock’s number?

A minute later the officer went into the store and Hannah walked in after him and saw him cleaning himself up because he was hot and sweaty. She offered to buy him a drink and got talking. Apparently the officer was at McDonald’s next door and this gentleman went in looking for a job. He was told they wouldn’t hire him unless he shaved his beard. So the officer went and got some clippers and shaved the man’s beard so he could go back and get a job! I am so proud to live in a community where our deputies and officers are such wonderful people. Good job Tallahassee Police Department!!! ❤”

An update was also posted today on facebook from officer Carlson himself on the department’s Facebook page:

#UPDATE FROM OFFICER CARLSON!! Note: It’s his day off but he wanted to give us all this information.

Ok so everybody has been wanting an update on Phil, so here it is:
This evening I was going to dinner with the family and my kids pointed out Phil (and his friend Lonnie) sitting under the flyover on Thomasville Rd. After dinner we decided to pick up a few cheeseburgers from McDonald’s and stop by to talk with Phil. Phil was surprised and excited to see me. He pulled out the Tallahassee Democrat front page, that had me and him on it, and showed it to me.
He then told me he had talked to the manager at McDonald’s and he was set to get a job but he still needed to get his ID/SS card. I then told Phil I had good news about that and told him I had been contacted by Senator Marco Rubio’s office here in town. They stated they had also seen the story and wanted to help Phil get his ID and Social Security card.
I told Phil when I got to work on Thursday I would print out the paperwork they emailed to me and bring it by for Phil to fill out. They also said Phil could come by their office and they would help him with the process. Phil was super excited and assured me he would be ready for Thursday.
Fingers crossed and hopefully we will have another update maybe on Friday.

We are crossing our fingers hard for Phil here and hoping to see a happy ending to this already special event.

Twitter Bans Users Under 13. Or Older!

Twitter is a social media networking website and app in which users can post tweets in a limited number of characters. So the message is relatively short and to the point. There has been a chaos on twitter recently about a policy they are taking too seriously nowadays.

Twitter is enforcing its age restriction policy on its users even though it’s the least cared about restriction on social media. Those users who signed up twitter when they were younger than 13 years are finding themselves in trouble, as Twitter is banning them one by one. Motherboard reported that the bans are going to occur whether the date of birth was added when making the account or it was added afterward to the profile. One of the most famous bans was of Tom Yun who is a Canadian journalist.

When banning the users, Twitter has sent them a message that says, “in order to create a Twitter account, you must be at least 13 years old,” and, “you don’t meet these age requirements.” This was the exact same message that was sent to Tom Yun, who is obviously older than thirteen years of age. The age restriction has always been a part of Twitter.

The protection of internet world and users is needed for safe use, so GDPR has added further new rules. The new rules require twitter not to keep any content that was posted when the user was of 13 years of age or younger. Twitter couldn’t distinguish between the content that was posted before the age of 13 or after the age of 13 so it thought of a strategy to ban everyone who signed up Twitter before the age of 13. Anyone who is above the age of 13 can use Twitter freely and their accounts are safe.

Discovered: The Most Unfortunate Man in Pompeii

As one of the most famous events to take place in ancient history, the devastation of Pompeii is a well-known part of the era. The most daunting thing about the whole experience, though, is the fact that so many bodies were found essentially encased in ash. At the archaeological dig site, many people are found to have died more or less on the spot.

One man was even found, uh, enjoying himself one last time before the end came. It’s all rather comical most of the time, but one rather tragic find was made recently. What is being called the “unlucky man” is the perfect example of bad human luck. He was found to have successfully evaded the eruption of Mount Vesuvius but was then crushed by a massive falling boulder.

Since then, he has stayed there, his body trapped. Given he died in 79 CE, that’s quite a long time to be trapped!

As you might imagine, the web was alight with funny jokes and humor. It was sent out by CNN, tweeting: “Archaeologists working at the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, Italy, uncovered the remains of a 30-year-old man who appears to have survived the initial eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D., only to be killed when he was struck by a large slab of stone.”

As if being crushed in such brutally unfortunate circumstance was not enough, the good people of the internet took it upon themselves to begin mercilessly laughing at the comedic effect.

From memes of people relating their own life crisis in relation to the boulder or simply making quips that they’d quite like to have been in his place, the web has yet again shown its capacity to take a uniquely tragic discovery and turn it into something funny.

If he’s still floating around in whatever kind of afterlife comes, then we hope that he’s having a good laugh at all the punchlines he’s helped to forge. It’s some way to go, and definitely one of the more damning ways to be rewarded for managing to avoid the eruption of an all-conquering volcano!
