Katy Perry

It took so much time and a lot of offs-and-ons, but finally, Orlando Bloom got on his knees and asked Katy Perry to be his wife. It happened, oh so romantically, on Valentine’s day 2019. The next day, Katy snapped a photo of the two with the ring in the center and a caption “Full Bloom.”

Royalty design

It’s hard to tell the exact worth of the ring, because we can’t tell if the centerpiece is a ruby, pink diamond, or pink sapphire. The price tag could be anywhere between $50,000 and $5 million.
Perry’s ring is designed in what is called a cluster ring. The designed was obsolete until Prince Charles proposed to Princess Diana with a sapphire cluster ring back in 1981. It’s been in style since.

Inspiring Women We Should Listen Too

We had a good year, though there were some sad events as famous and inspiring people passed away and the whole #MeToo campaign ruled the media. But overall, it was a year to learn new things that will be improved on and applied in the New Year. Notably, among the popular events, we observed three outstanding events involving women who were inspiring and many lessons were learned.

Oprah Winfrey’s Acceptance Speech

The first speech that shook the social media and the general public was Oprah Winfrey’s acceptance speech when she received the Cecil B. Demille Award. It was a speech that generated intense emotions from everyone in the crowd. We all thought it was a great speech that should indicate the change many entertainers and women have been waiting for all these years.

Oprah’s speech projected her advocacy for the confidence which should be at the forefront of every stand against injustice. She commended the #MeToo initiative which was born as a fight against the insubordination and victimization of women in the entertainment industry.

Oprah described a glowing culture which was rich with so many potentials many years ago but the greed and bias of many powerful men in the entertainment industry had eroded the values and plans that had been made to grow the industry while supporting upcoming talents who wish to find a place in the entertainment industry while doing the things they are passionate about.

She said, “And when the new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women…and some pretty phenomenal men fighting hard to make sure that the leaders that take us to the time when nobody has to say to Me Too again.”

It was a phenomenal speech which Oprah began by describing the events that attracted her to the entertainment industry in the first place. She also decried the seeming prosecution of the press and how it had lost its power in righting the wrongs that had been apparent for so long in the entertainment industry. It was an inspiring media moment that will be remembered by everyone for a long time.

Time Magazine Person of the Year

Our second most intriguing female moment from last year was the when Time magazine revealed its Person of the Year as the women who broke the silence regarding the abuse that was ongoing in the media and entertainment industry.

It was a revealing moment which shook the media, and everyone applauded the bravery of these women who gathered together to cry out the injustice they had experienced with the #MeToo campaign. It was a remarkable move by the Time magazine who had effectively confirmed to the whole world that they were interested in sustaining the #MeToo campaign by choosing these women as the Time Person of the Year 2017.

Contrary to the previous scandals which where “swept under the carpet” within a few weeks, the #MeToo campaign had gained a velocity and more prominence with the Time magazines acknowledgement of these exemplary women who had boldly made a stand to prevent other women from experiencing the horrific events they had to bear as employees in the media and entertainment industry.

Peggy Whitsun Breaking a Space Record

We have to admit the third most remarkable moment in 2017 where women shocked the world with incredible achievements is the announcement of Peggy Whitsun as the American astronaut who had spent the longest time in space, not just the female astronaut but the American astronaut for both genders.

The summary of her time spent in space includes a total of 665 days in space and accomplishing 122 million miles which she traveled in space, and she also made 4623 trips around the earth. This is truly an amazing record and an achievement not only for women but also for men. At the age of 57, she also remains the oldest woman to have made such voyages in space, and she has a record ten trips so far in her career as an American astronaut.

These were memorable moments that have inspired many people to chase their dreams and to remain resilient even in the event of obstacles along their paths to success. We hope that the New Year 2018 will be a year that we all achieve remarkable feats in our lives. One thing is for sure, the events we marked as memorable female moments in the past year made a substantial positive impact on many lives all across the globe.

We want to be better…So if you found a mistake in this article, please let us know

Every year, International Women’s Day is a time for rich celebration of all females on the planet. While we live in a time where change is coming, it’s fair to say that society is often quite slanted to a specific kind of human demographic.

Until the day comes where we have true equality, days such as International Women’s Day play a huge role in helping women from across the world find the help they need to get the respect and attention that they deserve.

Major events are held on a regular basis, but what are some of the most significant events that we can expect to see for this particular day?

#March4Women.

This event is going to be held across large parts of the United Kingdom, but is expected to be most keenly felt in London.

This is part of the CARE International UK push to make the event as large as possible, and it’s likely to be among the largest this huge march and rally is especially important this year as it’s the 100th anniversary since some women were given the opportunity to vote in the UK.

The march starts at Millbank in London SW1 and will move through the city until a huge rally takes place at Trafalgar Square.

#PressForProgress.

This huge march is expected to take place in LA, California. This massive march is going to be built around some very important themes indeed.

With the motto “Forward to a Feminist Future” it’s sure to hold a very rich and exciting atmosphere and a very positive, optimistic tone.

Given the significant challenges going on in US culture and politics at present, this is definitely one of the marches to keep an eye on. It’ll start at the Metropolitan Detention Center, Alameda, and end at City Hall.

International Women’s Strike.

Another major American movement is the one taking place in New York City.

This is going to start at Washington Square Park and move through the city before finishing up at New York City’ Baha’i Center.

It’s sure one to look out for and is likely to be among the largest going on across the USA.

Rally and March.

Taking place in Melbourne, Australia, this massive march is going to be the biggest Down Under from the looks of things.

Taking place on Thursday, 8th March, this will start at State Library of Victoria and likely end at the State library again.

Events are detailed on their official Facebook page, and we also expect to see some major events taking place in the city such as the Virgin America Melbourne Fashion Festival; given it lined up with IWD, it could be a very exciting event to watch unfold.

This is sure to be a very enticing and exciting viewing. If you are looking to get out on the streets for International Women’s Day this year, be sure to look into any of these events. Of course, you might also find something local, too; just look around – IWD 2018 is going to be the largest yet!

The African Hairstyle Exhibition That Will Blow You Away

There are many ways to utilize your natural hair when it comes to style and design; people have come up with the most intriguing looks that have set trends worldwide. One unnoticed trend and style is the hair of African women, and how they utilize their gorgeous curls. One weave and afro stylist, Lisa Farrall, decided to pay tribute to African culture and exceed beyond the percieved limits of how afros and weaves can be stylized. Her collection is called ‘Armor’, and it dedicates its image to cultural references with a mix of fabulous hair styles as well as a blend of warrior style clothing.

For a moment, let us admire the beauty of the woman in the picture. Her dark skin is pure and smooth, while her hair has a very intriguing weave blended into the warrior look. The painting along her body makes for more of an artistic feel, and overall she sits in a position of power and grace.

Now, this look is more of a powerful Goddess one, showing more of a stronger side on the warrior figure. The hair is everything in this picture, even more than the outfit itself. I admire the ringed necklace combined with the pure black dress. The hair looks one hundred percent natural, and the tint of white color makes it ten times more elaborate. For this look, I give it a ten out of ten!

Last but not least, we have the look of the mysterious warrior, hiding like a wolf in sheeps clothing. The silk hair matching the elaborately simple dress that leaves us wondering what this look represents in the aspect of African Culture. The white paint is subtle on the hair while the face is decorated with an intriguing pattern that makes you wonder about her story, and who she is.
