There is no need to write an intro about this article, it’s really self-explanatory, some people still have really strange laws in their countries…
It’s illegal to hold a salmon under suspicious circumstances in the UK. I really don’t know how anyone can look suspicious holding a fish. This is some fishy law they have in the UK…
It’s illegal to run out of gas on the Autobahn in Germany. Like all Germans, you have to be disciplined, have no sense of humor, and be precise as a Swiss watch. This law, I presume, is used to lower the risk of accidents on the Autobahn. Imagine driving 120mph when all of a sudden a small car appears in front of you… Yeah, the law seems a little stupid when you first look at it but I guess it’s kind of useful.
Next, we go over to Japan, the land that brought us sumo wrestling. These hypocrites say it’s illegal to be fat. Could you imagine sumo wrestling with two extremely thin guys? There are some stupid laws around the world, but this is really idiotic.
It’s illegal in Chicago to eat in a place that is on fire. Yes, you read it well. Imagine being in a restaurant which is burning, people screaming and shouting around while you enjoy your obviously hot meal and a cop approaches you to write you a fine. I really wonder how many people got tickets for disobeying this law.
In 2007, the Chinese government passed a law that is somewhat absurd. This law states that it’s illegal for Tibetan monks to reincarnate without the government’s approval. This is either a joke, or the Chinese know something we don’t…
This one is my personal favorite. In Scotland, if a stranger knocks on your door and asks to use the bathroom (toilet), you must let them enter and use it. This is a good law for Scottish people with a weak bladder.
In Samoa, it’s illegal to forget your wife’s birthday. Well, we can all assume that this law was brought by some woman whose husband forgot her birthday often. Every man around the world gets punished if he forgets his wife’s birthday, but in Samoa, you are actually breaking the law.
There is a law in Turkey that states that it’s illegal for men over 80 years of age to become pilots. In my opinion, the Turkish government had some free time to declare laws that are obvious even before they were brought up.
Have you ever wondered why Drake, the Weeknd and Justin Bieber are so popular in Canada? Well, maybe one law in Canada can explain this. It is legally required for Canadian radio stations to play Canadian songs often. To be exact, at least 20% of all songs played on radio must be from Canadian singers.
Now, the mother of all laws around the world. This one comes from the Philippines and it states, I kid you not, that an annoying person can be fined for being annoying. If this law was accepted around the world, this planet would be such a beautiful place to live.
